    3. Lee Funeral Home Online Obituaries Winona,, MS April 27, 2008 Johnnie E. Dees (October 19, 1918 - April 26, 2009) Funeral services for Mr. Johnnie Elton Dees of Kosciusko, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, at Salem Baptist Church in Attala County, with burial following in the church cemetery. Dr. Duran Palmertree and Rev. James Green will officiate the services. Visitation will be Monday, April 27, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home in Winona; and Tuesday, April 28, from noon until service time at the church. Mr. Dees died at the Veterans Nursing Home in Kosciusko on Sunday, April 26, 2009. He was 90 years old. Mr. Dees was the son of the late James Cull Dees and the late Lillian Miller Dees Downs. He was a self-employed farmer, a retired minister, a two-term justice of the peace for Attala County, a veteran of World War II, and a lover of gospel singing. He was a member of Bethany Church of God in Montgomery County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Alice Vivian Clark Dees; son, Jimmy Earl Dees; five brothers; five sisters; and three grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Grace Dees; two daughters, Ruthie Blanton and husband, Leon, of Salt Lake City, Utah, anad Rita Alegria and husband, Wilson, of Salt Lake City, Utah; seven sons, James Earl Dees of Ethel, Billy Ray Dees and wife, Kay, of Kilmichael, Claude Elton Dees and wife, Jean, of Clarksville, Tennessee, Wil Dees and wife, Vicki, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Ernie Dees and wife, Vicky, of Kosciusko, Sam Dees and wife, Stephanie, of Grenada, Johnnie Dees and wife, Becky, of Winona; sisters, Lois Hodges of Kosciusko and Sue Scarbrough of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers, Felton Dees of Ethel and L. T. Downs of Kosciusko; 27 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and six stepchildren. Pallbearers will be Dennis Bond, Bobby Ray Dees, Greg Dees, Ricky Dees Jr., Scott Dees, Anthony Salers, Leon Dees, and Purvis Dees. Mr. Dees' granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers.
