The Greenwood Commonwealth Greenwood, MS April 6, 2009 Beverly Lynn Shirley (May 18, 1954 - April 3, 2009) Funeral services for Beverly Lynn Shirley of Vaiden will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Hopewell Cemetery near Vaiden. Rev. Freddie Matthews will officiate the services. Visitation will be Monday, April 6, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home. Ms. Shirley died of complications from an aneurysm at University Medical Center in Jackson on Friday, April 3, 2009. She was 54 years old. Ms. Shirley was the daughter of Betty Shirley of Vaiden and the late Howard Shirley. She was the owner of City Cafe in Winona and a member of Vaiden Baptist Church in Vaiden. In addition to her mother, she is survived by five sisters, Ann Robbins of Hernando, Patsy Stewart of Enid, Marsha Burrell of Vaiden, Linda Pogue of Tomnolen, and Sandy Goodson of Grenada; one brother, Jerry Shirley of Vaiden; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Frankie Robbins, Chris Robbins, Jeramy Shirley, Luke Pogue, Chet Pogue, and Lee Shirley. Honorary pallbearer will be John Goodson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering at Vaiden Baptist Church in Vaiden, Mississippi.
