Hattie married James Bedford Ashmore, and here is his obituary, courtesy of Peggy Maxwell Palmertree (our resident obituary researcher...): The Winona Times Winona, MS January 9, 1948 J.B. Ashmore Funeral services were held for J.B. Ashmore at Long View Church, December 27th at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. H.L. Smith. Interment was in the church cemetery with Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Ashmore, who died at a Jackson, Miss., hospital December 26th, lived for many years near Carrollton and was a prosperous farmer and good citizen. For the past few years he had made his home near Poplar Creek. He was 84 years of age and was a member of Long View Methodist Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Hettie Ashmore, Poplar Creek; 3 daughters, Mrs. A.C. Cooper, Jackson, Mrs. Lillie Spruce and Mrs. A.Y. Malone, Grenada; 3 sons, J.L and L.S. Ashmore, Carrollton and B.F.
