I have been doing some research for my daughter-in-law as they never really knew who her Bridges grand parents were. After some research I found that William M. Bridges and his wife Sarah Frances [Unknown] was buried in Poplar Springs Cemetery. That was about 4 or 5 years ago and we have put flowers on their graves since then. For the 2nd part of the story we always wondered what her last name could have been. As one of her sons was named "Lee Dobbs Bridges" all of the living family thought that she was a "Dobbs". As she died in 1941 I decided to send for her death certificate. Last week I received it and it listed he father as Pat Ray and her mother as Sadie Crowder. There was no problem for finding Andrew P. Ray as he is buried in Pine Bluff Cemetery by the side of one of his sons, William, [W.C. Ray]. The 1860 Choctaw County Census for a 23 year old seems to be right on track but it list his wife as Elizabeth A., 16 years old and Isabella as their 2 year old daughter. Elizabeth A. could be our "Sadie" but did Sarah Frances change her name from Isabella??? Could she have been Sarah Frances Isabella Ray??? Her headstone and death certificate gives her birth date as 19 October 1856. Of course both of these may be in error as so many are. The Information for her Death Certificate was given by her youngest son Sell Boyd Bridges... I hope that you are doing fine as for Francine and I we are about as always and staying closer to home. I don't like to drive very far at night. I go to Starkville with my oldest son sometime to see the Bulldogs play basketball so that way I have a driver... O.D.
