The Grenada Star Grenada, MS February 16, 2009 Lacy Stephen Newton Lacy Stephen Newton, 45, of Grenada, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at his parents' home. Visitation was held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, at National Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, at the National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada with the Rev. Charles Duncan officiating. Burial followed in Ruleville Cemetery in Ruleville. Stephen was born on Sept. 9, 1963, in Covington, La., to James Lacy Newton and Peggy Ruth King Newton. He was a member and co-founder of the Faith Tabernacle Independent Church. Stephen was a business owner and a welder. He also worked in construction and was a small engine mechanic. Survivors include his parents, James and Peggy Newton of Grenada; two daughters, Starlyn Nichole Newton Zickafoose of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Alexis Leal of Tallahassee, Fla.; one grandson, Jordan Zickafoose; one sister, Starlyn Newton Holloway and her husband, Lewis "Butch" Holloway, of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and two nieces, Kimberly Holloway and Rachel Holloway. National Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
