The Clarion-Ledger Jackson, MS April 3, 2007 Sarah 'Tena' Pellegrine Sarah "Tena" Pellegrine, 67, died Monday, April 2, 2007, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with burial following in Parkway Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. with a prayer service following at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Visitation will resume at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Tena was born on June 8, 1939, in Stewart, the daughter of the late J.D. and Christine Burney. After high school, she continued her education at Holmes Community College. A resident of Jackson since 1960 and Madison since 2000, Tena was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She enjoyed assisting family and friends in decorating their homes, working in the yard, and sewing; however, her true passion was her family. Tena will be most remembered as a beloved wife, cherished mother, devoted grandmother and sister. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Alice Daniel. Survivors include: her husband of 46 years, Louis J. Pellegrine of Madison; son, Mark Pellegrine of Dallas, Texas; son, Stan Pellegrine of Madison; daughter, Traci Smith and her husband Chris of Madison; grandchildren, Elizabeth Pellegrine, Caleb Pellegrine, Alexandria Smith, Taylor Smith all of Madison; brother, James B. Burney of Stewart; brother, Terry Burney of Stewart; sister, Billie Cole of Olive Branch; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Jackson Oncology Associates, Jackson Pulmonary Associates, and the nurses and staff of the 5th floor & SCU at St. Dominic for their compassionate care during this time.
