David Allen Williams (September 30, 1929 - May 17, 2009) Funeral services for David Allen Williams of Poplar Creek will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, at Oliver Chapel with burial following in Bethany Cemetery near Poplar Creek. Mr. Dan Beardain will officiate the services. Visitation will be Monday, May 18, from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home. Mr. Williams died of pneumonia at Kilmichael Hospital in Kilmichael on Sunday, May 17, 2009. He was 79 years old. Mr. Williams, a retired logger, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mack Allen Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Kay Williams Adkins; and two grandchildren, Billy Joe Williams and Jessica Lynn Williams. Survivors include his wife, Erna Lee Williams of Poplar Creek; four daughters, Claudette Williams of Poplar Creek, Margaret Bankston of Poplar Creek, Mavis Mooney of Weir, Norma Jean Crouch of Winona; three sons, J. B. Allen Williams of Poplar Creek, Willie Gene Williams of Poplar Creek, Mike Williams of Poplar Creek; one sister, Mavis Christine Perry of Kilmichael; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mack Williams, Hank Williams, Michael Ted Williams, Terry Williams, Randy Williams, and Gary Williams.
