Jan.9, 1953 The Winona Times Winona, Ms. John D. Tyler John Dewitt Tyler, life long resident of Montgomery County, passed away at his residence near Winona on Dec. 31st. Funeral services were held at Bethlehem Methodist Church on Jan. 1st.with the Rev. John Sutphin of Moorhead assisted by the Rev. J.C. Christian of Eupora & Rev. Beasley of Winona officiating. Interment was in Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Oliver Funeral Home. Serving as active pallbearers were his 5 sons, W. Roy Tyler of Jackson, H.C. Tyler of Winona, James C. Tyler of Greenwood, T. Estol Tyler of Eupora, Dewitt E. Tyler of Winona, & a grandson, Rev. C.W. Johnson, Jr. Mr. Tyler was born in Montgomery County April 11, 1868, & on March 1, 1986, he married the former Miss Julia Maude Coleman who survives. He was a member of the Bethlehem Methodist Church & W.O.W, Lodge No. 48 F.& A.M. Besides his wife, Mr. Tyler leaves 5 sons; 4 daughters, Mrs. C.W. Johnson, Kilmichael, Mrs. G. S. Holloway, Winona, Mrs. W.W. Mullen, Greenwood, Mrs. Oliver Paxton, Kilmichael; a sister, Mrs. W.C. Holmes; & 19 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren.
