Cuz, Thanks for sending this obituary. I have been having fun trying to find out who he was, since I have never heard of him, and wanted to know if or how he was related to the HOLMES we know. He was the son of George Washington HOLMES and Amelia J. WALKER. James was married to Anna E. FAIR (daughter of Richard FAIR and Delina BOYD), who died in 1938 and is buried at French Camp Cemetery. Their children were Estelle, Mary Bell ( who married S. J. Curtis), Samuel E., Hugh Fair Holmes, John James, Robert Love Holmes, Lester Thomas, Oliver Wendell (who married Susan Leola Biggers), and Eva M. Thanks for the interesting obituary.
