The Greenwood Commonwealth Greenwood, MS May 8, 2009 Billie Gregg Day WALLS - Graveside services for Billie Gregg Day of Walls will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Harmony Cemetery near Black Hawk. Mrs. Day, 70, died from complications following a stroke at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis on Wednesday, May 6, 2009. Mrs. Day was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Vesta Franks Gregg, and the widow of the late Robert Noah Day. She was a homemaker and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Shriners. Survivors include two daughters, Tommy Carol Glass of Memphis, Tennessee, and Schawana Moore of Bartlett, Tennessee; one son, Robert Day, Jr., of Marion, Ark.; four sisters, Carol Mims of Vaiden, Shirley Kimes of Germantown, Tenn., Tony Rainey of Boyle and Naomi White of Vaiden; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 250 Williams Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30303-1002; or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children; 2900 Rocky Point Drive; Tampa, FL 33607. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona. Eastern Star rites will be given at noon Saturday at the funeral home. Here we go again. From the Montgomery Co., MS Marriage Books, Robert Lee Gregg married Vesta KEMP. So far we haven't been able to determine exactly what Vesta's maiden name was, or who her parents were. >From Billie's obituary it appears that Naomi Gregg White is still living. I used www.switchboard.com and found an address and phone number for her: Naomi M. White, 49 Old Highway 51 N, Winona, MS 38967, 662.283.4747. The same address and phone number appears for Fred D. White, who is Naomi's husband. I don't know why the obituary stated she lives in Vaiden. Would anyone from that area like to call Naomi and see if we can find out what her mother's maiden name was and who Vesta's parents were? Thanks.
