Nov 21, 2011 Oliver Funeral Home of Winona Winona, Miss.   Mavis Baswell Austin May 17, 1925    Nov. 21, 2011   Funeral services for Mrs. Mavis Braswell Austin of Winona will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Oliver Chapel, with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona.  Rev. Paul Trosper & Rev. Rupert Ingram will officiate the services.   Visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Wednessday at the funeral home.   Mrs. Austin died of heart failure on Monday, Nov. 21, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona  She was 86 years old.   Mrs. Austin was the daughter of the late J.W. Braswell & the late Merley Yeatman, & the widow of the late Vernon Dick Austin.  She was a retired employee of J.A. Olson Company in Winona & a member of Scotland Baptist Church in Winona.   Survivors include her stepmother, Becky Braswell of Kilmichael; 2 daughters, Gale Nichols of Conehatta, Ann Stringer of Carson, & Jo Chambley ofBrandon; 3 sisters, Bonnie Campbell of Greenwood, Brenda Card of Kilmichael & Janice Howard of Winona; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; & a host of nieces & nephews.   Pallbearers will be Chris Nichols, Brian Chamley, Roy Stringer, Lem Adams, Cody Horn & J.W. Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Waller, Bobby Oliver, & members of Mrs. Austin's Sunday School Class.
