Thanks Ken, I didn't have this. This was my Uncle Bud, they all had nicknames. I don't think we knew their real names until we were almost teens. His son Chuck must have been called that after they moved to Calif and then WA. We only knew him as C.L. back here. He was a wild one and he died that way, racing those boats off the coast of Calif. They said his went up in the air and just exploded. He was a favorite cousin of everyone's of course, always fun. The family whispered that he ran whiskey up from Texas while they still lived in OK. OK was supposedly dry until about 1956. But even kids knew who the bootleggers were. Then CL tried to join the OHP and said they just laughed. He had outran most of them round these parts. My Aunt Sis (Chloe) said he loved to tease his Mom and once out in Ca. she was there for Sunday dinner with them, he came in to the kitchen with his mom's parakeet between two slices of bread and told her he was going to eat it, if they didn't hurry up dinner. He wouldn't have hurt a feather on that bird but Aunt Sis said his mom Bulah always fell for his jokes and was just openmouthed. His dad Uncle Bud was more serious than most of the family, he never lingered finishing his iced tea at the table, when he finished eating, he was up and at it, even on weekends. I don't know much about him except that he was a hard worker and loved his family. That's a pretty good memory to leave. Nova My Gosh, what a lot of great memories you have brought me today.
