    2. Ken, or No Show George Jones. ha ha I knew Peggy would be kidding you, once you're back on the line. I think she waited a whole two days this time. Love it!!! We had been in OK for 10 years at this time, but you would have thought my familyt would have heard about this from their friends and Granny's relatives Whitson and also the Deans still living down there, not that far from Paris. But I know they hid stuff that wasn't bad at all from us kids. Before Mom passed away in 09 she was telling me about who all played dominoes with her and Dad and other relatives and friends in Wynnewood View, she whispered that one neighbor cheated, it has been 65 yrs since those domino games 70 miles south of here but there in the nursing home 2009, she was whispering that to me. So you can tell how she would have been about a murder. Dad's older brother Johnnie witnessed a shooting by a neighbor while they still lived in Texas. I have the court receipt where he was paid for being away from the farm work that day $1. and I think 68 cents for riding his horse from near Detroit to Clarksville. The neighbor's name was Ward, but I don't think it told who he shot. John William P'tree was about 21, I haven looked at that paper in a while. But after the trial the neighbors were threatening him and Grandpa sent him off to Red Springs Tx for a while. I also a letter he wrote back to his Mom and Dad asking if things were alright with those neighbors and something about taking care of his saddle, also that it was really cold where ever he was that the only thing between him and a norther was a bob wire fench and it was blowed down in places. I tried to research it one time and found Texas has had three Red Springs towns or communitys so don't know which one but must have been in the north part. I have no idea if he was staying with someone they knew, that almost had to be it. This was in 1919 I think and they grandpa and grandma and all their children moved to OK in late 1921. I've always wondered if that had something to do with them coming to OK. Lots of those Wards around there and in Clarksville. I met some on a trip there. The Clarksville Courthouse is a beautiful building with a golden dome etc. They refurbished it a few years ago. . In a message dated 11/22/2011 10:14:22 P.M.
