Gang, Thought for sure I had found the reason N.B . Palmertree had been pardoned, but am just more confused now. He was accused and convicted of killing Jack North in 1932. However, I found this article regarding the murder of a Jack North, too. The verdict was in the face of a chain of State's witnesses, including both city and county officers, who asserted that nothing in Jones' conduct over many years had indicated to them that he was unbalanced mentally. Indictments charging Jones with the fatal shooting, March 18, 1931, of Jack North at the White City Dinner Club and with four burglaries of Fort Worth residences lay upon the counsel table during the trial. Jones' mother, Mrs. J. L.
