    3. I met Donnie about 5 yrs ago.  I still remember his grandfather, Lewis Green.  How he loved to sing & his favorite song was "I fly away."  I met Pauline at a Green reunion in Greenwood. I had to look down to her, but I was 5'4" tall myself.  So I guess that is why Donnie & Retha is short.  Oh, I ask Donnie if he took after Grandpa Lewis about singing.  He said he couldn't carry a tone.  Once Donnie & I went to French Camp for lunch.  He was leaving that afternoon going down to Jackson.  We were sitting on the porch & he couldn't sit still to eat, for he was looking around.  If he saw someone he knew, he would say I know them & jump up & go too them.  It took him about an hour to eat.  He order himself the bread pudding & talked about how good it was.   He couldn't eat it all, so got a carry out to take with him.   He eat more than I, but I guess with him jumping up so much, he made room.  I had told him, I wish I could give him about 20 lbs. & he said then he couldn't walk.  He would talk alot about when they lived at Winona.  Ask if I knew so in so, some I knew & most I didn't.  This is just some of the memories I have of him from this short 5 years.  It is good that we do have some good memories of Donnie & to share with our comp. family.  So long Donnie!!!!  Peggy ________________________________ From: Donna Griffin <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, October 7, 2011 9:36 AM Subject: Re: [PTREE] Donnie Grice I have lots of good memories of Donnie and Retha and Mickey and their mother, Pauline.  Donnie and Retha will always be little children in my heart and memory since I haven't seen them since they grew up.  It has been so much fun talking to Donnie this past two years and reliving the past. God always puts people in our lives when we need them and I know that is why we found each other when we did.  Donnie connected me to P'tree and that has been a blessing to me as well.  Our loss is Heaven's gain and like I told him the last time I talked to him, we will spend eternity together and keep on talking!!!!  He said he had talked to Retha's pastor and had been saved so we have to trust that is a fact.  Retha and Bill and their families need our prayers and support now, more than ever.
