    3. Hi Peggy, Its still hot here in Ga. the cool air has not arrived yet, today was 90 and high humidity, might even get some more rain... We really got lucky last week and again during the weekend,,, rain rain rain,,,, three or four days of it,,, now my grass is dark green instead of brown and I guess I will have to cut it.. Only about the 4th time this years since it was a dry summer and spring.... Glad to hear about Donnie, it is good to have love ones near you in a time of need like he has... I have not had contact with him but I am glad you and Nova and other are keeping us posted on his condition... Wish him the best, I know what he is going thru since my wife passed from cancer...... All take care and stay well Ed -----Original Message----- From: Peggy Palmertree Sent: Tuesday, September 27, 2011 1:00 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [PTREE] hi Everyone must be out in their yards cleaning it, since the temp has fallen. This cooler weather makes me feel better. I know Nova spoke to Donnie in the last week or two, but has anyone else. I think of him almost every day, since I did speak to him. He sounded so weak so I didn't talk too long. I would ask a question & it took him so long to answer. So glad he's near Retha & not all alone in Calif. We just don't know what we will have to go through. I've learn another friend in Fla. isn't expected to live very much long. Her children all live around here & she's div. from her husband. She is Marie Brooks Jones. Dot, she lives in Pensacola, & I read your mind. Everyone take care. 3. Peggy - Its still summer here but they say it may cool down a bit this weekend. Friday I cleaned the pool area real good -- Sunday it rained a good bit and Monday we got about 4 inches more ... the water ran off from the house behind me (we are a bit lower) and I thought it was going to come in the house at one point. It was just too much rain so fast ... the pool over flowed ... and when it was over there was a lot of dirt on the deck. Fortunately the pool itself didn't get any dirt so that was o.k. The ground was so saturated with water it just couldn't soak up any more. I spent yesterday cleaning again -- and the humidity was so high I had to wash my hair when I came inside--soaking wet! I am sorry to hear about your friend in Pensacola. She lives too far away for me to check on. I hope someone who volunteers will help her. Chemo drains you fast...I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996. I had surgery followed by chemo ... I was stage 2A. The chemo was very mild but by the time it was over I was really dragging. Its something that stays with you - the fear never goes away - but it does lessen with time. My sister and several first cousins were not as lucky. It runs in my family...my mother's side. For what it's worth -- I read the breast cancer message boards -- and many, many women who were diagnosed had already had mammograms and it wasn't seen -- they found it by doing a self-exam. So keep that in mind -- and do everything possible to know what is "normal" so you can tell if something is wrong.
