I understand they have a new (to me) heart cath procedure at St. Dominic's. They use your wrist to insert the cath into and snake it around the elbow to the affected area. Sure wish they had that technology a few years ago. That groin stuff this is waaay to much. Especially when they can just use a bandaid on the wrise to cover the cut so it won't bleed. My sister's husband, Tom, had one and had a bypass a day or two after at St. Dominic's. What technology has come to... Ken

Hey everyone, well, guess I will live. Have been doing housework all day. I would stop every once in a while to rest and read a couple of chapters in my book. But sure feel a lot better than I have in weeks!! Jerry, My husband and kids like my cooking and I do eat way too much of it, I'm a very plain cook, just regular ol stuff. I have the slow cooker going with tomato soup for dinner tonight. I will make the regular cornbread to go with that. Mom always made a tomato soup with out too many ingredients, just canned tomatoes, cubed potatoes, onions, salt and pepper. I never got tired of that. I try to remember if she put bell pepper in it but can't remember and she would not have had those in the winter time when I was a kid, I don't think anyway. The ones that wanted it would add pepper sauce to theirs, you know the kind of little peppers she bought and then added vinegar to it for years to make more sauce. We never ate the peppers but would sprinkle drops of the spiced vinegar over pinto beans and cornbread. etc. I cheated by cooking the cubed potatoes in the microwave to get them cooked before adding to the slow cooker. Joe and I both like potatoes in soup cooked much softer than the slow cooker ever does them. Anyway, glad you guys kept talking. I enjoy hearing from you all. Pizza Cornbread, Hummm that sounds like something Joe would go for. Maybe will have to try that this week. I do have pepperoni, cheese etc. I'm not supposed to eat much salt plus I don't like things with too much of it and most pizzas are loaded. I've found that the plain cheese pizzas in Walmart bakery isle (two sizes) are not that salty tasting. I add chopped green onions, chopped bell peppers, & black pepper over their cheese topping and then add scrambled hamburger to my half and pepperoni to Joe's half. Works out great that way! Oh yes, sometimes add a little tomato sauce and extra cheese. Whatever! Gotta run. Nova . In a message dated 1/28/2013 12:57:48 P.M. You ladies are making me hungry talking about my favorite bread... When I was a kid I remember my mother made it with cracklings in it... I just like the good ole cornbread nothing in it so I can put it in my milk sometimes otherwise I eat it with butter... Pat, I just ran across a civil war record for Reason Evans. Do you want a copy? It is not a service record but rather: " Known as the "Citizens File," these original records pertain to goods furnished or services rendered to the Confederate government by private individuals or business firms" There are 22 pages, records of his payment for shoeing horses for Wirt Adams men, building coffins, and repair of wagons. Remember he is listed as a blacksmith in some of the census records. I could not find your e-mail so just shoot me one back if you want a copy. It may be monday before I can get it to you. Jerry, I love milk and cornbread. I had it last week! Such a comfort food. I bake it and keep it in a plastic bag in the fridge now. Joe likes thin and I like thick, so make some of both for us. But anything added to a hunk of cornbread on a plate seems like a good meal to me. I owe Joe some of his "special" cornbread. Thin and crusty with cut up bell peppers. onions, raisins or currents, nuts etc whatever I decide to put in it. He likes it thin just so it has crusty top and bottom. I think I promised him a pan of that for some "honey do", I can't even remember what right now. Later Nova . In a message dated 1/19/2013 2:18:25 P.M. I refuse to take another Flu Shot because several years ago I had one that put me down for about a week & I am afraid of them!! I hope that by now you & Joe are feeling better. Nothing stinks like having everyone sick at the same time. Every time I get sick I crave milk & cornbread(which is VERY strange). Hope you are feeling better!! Dorothy, that weather sounds wonderful! I'm staying home a lot and getting caught up on several things that got behind while helping take care of my sister. So it is good to have some time and then time to just go to the sofa and read my book until I maybe fall asleep, that seems like such a luxury! So have enjoyed some of this time even though I was coughing part of the time also! Nova In a message dated 1/24/2013 3:01:24 P.M. Heard a few around here has got it. They need something real bad I would go get if for them, but would just put it inside the door. >From the people who has had it, I don't want to come down it. I believe in Lydol spray. I would spray before I went in & spray afterward. Where I go to paint, she came started coming down with it last Wed. & is running a fever still. Her husband said she wouldn't go to the dr. If I let my sinus' get bad, I end up being sick at my stomach, so when my chest gets to hurting I head to the dr. I could hurt for a month & cough like crazy. Don't say nothing Buckoo. ok, get well everyone & get back on line. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PALMERTREE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PALMERTREE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PALMERTREE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PALMERTREE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
