It gave us something to talk about for a few minutes. Yes, I do remember a song of some kind. Ken, I talked with my friend who was md. to Billy Webster A. & she didn't know who big Edna was before she md. the Greenwall. Carey Wade Ellis’ wife is Christina Ann Summerville. Why is Minnie Clyde Rogers listed as Minnie Clyde Bridges? Janie
Hi Peggy, I too had a friend who is doing the same thing, smoking again after cancer,,, she may still have it it seams to just hide for a while and then come back. smoking is as bad as drugs the habit is demanding and so hard to quite..... I am so happy I gave up all tobacco some years ago... it was one of the reasons I had heart attack and heart problems... Cuz, Such a nasty, expensive and unhealthy addiction. I am so glad God gave me the strength and the help I needed to put them away after starting to smoke when I was 43 years old. I "smoked" for about 10 years, and wish I never had put the first one in my mouth. Stress can do that to you, you know? When I think back during my late teen and early adult years, I was h*l* on wheels with my friends who smoked. Just to show how radical I was, I even went so far as to catch one of my friends gone to the girl's room, leaving her cigarettes and lighter at the table we were sitting at, at Pizza Hut one night. I made sure she was gone, and then I took about 8 of her Salems and dunked them in a water glass, then replaced them in her pack. When she got back to the table, boy, was she fit to be tied when she pulled one out to light up and it disintegrated! I just laughed like a fool. I thought she was going to kill me. She's dead now - about my age, and died about 2 years ago from extreme lung problems. As far as I know, no cancer involved. Maybe Tom will trust Christ to deliver him from that terrible, costly habit. With the cost of a pack -much less a whole carton, pretty soon no one will be able to afford them anyway. Ken ------------------------------------------------------------- Ken, my friend has cancer & has had 2 or 3 surgerys since I've been knowing her. Jerry, I sure hope everyone on our list took time to view these astonishing photos. I sure enjoyed them,, and some of the comments were from people who had the experience of growing up during that time period. Nice trip down memory lane for a bunch of folks. I sure enjoyed seeing the "other" side of America. Did you notice how many photos had businesses/stores called "juke joints"? I guess that's where uncle Homer got my nick name....... Thanks for sending this. However, I didn't see any photos that were tagged "Nashville". Maybe I overlooked them? Ken Ken I Thought these were interesting, sent by my friend in Montana.
