Can anybody help with this mystery? Cynthia has been searching for a long time for any information on these people and just now found Green Ferguson. Any information will be helpful....thanks. Hey Donna, My gg was Sarah Ann Mary Jane Langford daughter of Elijah Langford. She was married to William Green Ferguson in Carroll County, MS. on July 24, 1845. They had 3 children Sarah Susannah (Susan) 1846-1911, Mary Jane 1849-1902 and WIlliam Riley Ferguson 1852-1925. I just found Green on a family tree in Ancestry and their records show he died ca. 1852 in Hickman, TN. I was looking in Attala County, MS for my great-grandfather, John Tolliver Cross ( they called him Toll so that is what I put ) his birth date is Oct 1861. The only thing I have ever found on him is thru Ancestry 1900 census and it said his home was in Poplar Creek. I am trying to find his parents and brothers and sisters. I got into that site and it went thru 40 pages then it wouldn't go any farther. I don't know what I did wrong. I sent the site to a friend and she found one person and when she tried another person it told her she had to register to pay. I think this is probably something I am doing wrong but I don't know what. I usually have to be walked thru things cause I am not that smart!! Thanks for your help! You are the best. Gang, While prowling around tonight, I found a site that has access to every US census taken, complete with images. It is a subscription site, BUT, the 1940 census is FREE - all you have to do is register. What's so neat about the 1940 census there is that it is totally INDEXED. All you have to do is search for a name - you don't have to go looking for whoever you want to know about. That's great, because all the other sites I've found you must know where the person lived in 1930. You can even search on last name only. You can choose which state to search in, and in a moment or two it will give you a list of folks with that name, alphabetized by first name. I searched PALMERTREE in Mississippi, and found a gazillion families in it. A lot from Panola County, Leflore and many other counties, including Montgomery (of course!!) Anyway, here is the URL in case you want to search the 1940 census and view the images. I even found Jerry Dean there! Go to: https://www.censusrecords.com/ and scroll down the page. You will see where you can search the 1940 census for free. Just though I'd share that, because up till now, it has been very frustrating to find someone on that census. Ken

Janie, Don't feel bad - I have to make notes or else I don't remember what I was doing when I come back to the computer.... Before I get up from this PC I better get my notes on here before I forget what they are! >1. I found two William Clyde Grice-Perry’s in my FTM. One is married to Mary Gooden with one child listed as Mattie Louise Gooden b. 1931. The other one is married to Lura Mae “Laura” Palmertree with no children. Can anybody shed a little light on this. He was married to both of them. He married Laura May "Laura" Palmertree in 1925. I have that she married first to Felix Denton in 1919 with no children in my database for that couple. He then married Mary Gooden , (marriage date unknown to me). They had two children, according to my notes: (1) Mattie Louise Gooden b/ 1931 and Clyde Lee Gooden b/ 1933. I am not sure about why I have GOODEN for the children's surname. According to notes from O.D. McElroy , " Will Perry adopted William after his marriage to William's mother, Evie Gregg Hutchins Gregg. He states that William was always known as William Clyde Perry." >2. William S Grice has three spellings of his middle name. Saires, Silas, Saries. His tombstone has Saries. I changed ohiso oname from Saries to Silas after Peggy sent his obituary, which reads: "Funeral services for William Silas Grice......" >3. Kenneth Bowman Sr. died 27 Apr 2008 in Crystal Springs, MS., Copiah Co., USA. Thank you. I didn't have a death date for him. He was buried 29 Apr 2008 in Crystal Springs Cemetery. >4. I do not have a Billie Jean Cross Hovas or Odell Hovas. Only one Cross, Arden Cross who married Mary Ida Palmertree. >5. I have an extra child for William Grice & Sallie. Louie W. Grice b. abt 1901 and no death info. Could he have been born between Mary Annie Francis (b/ 1897) and Willliam Lonnie( b/ 1900)? Or between William Lonnie (b/ 1900) and Emma "Emmie" (b/ 1902)? Or could his name have been changed to William Lonnie? I think it was the latter explanation. Three children born 1 year apart?????? Ken
