OD, good to hear from you guys. I could have just gone along with that slow dial-up for a long time, I guess although it was inconvenient, the kids all wanted me to get up to date, now maybe I can send them the Hughes bill? Think that would work? Had a long fun lunch with daughter, son, niece, great nephew, sister and guest of honor, my nephew from NYC. We sat and laughed for hours. My son John was telling about last month when he was attacked by monkeys in Spain. Only John could have an adventure like that. Evidently the small monkey looking apes on one side of some spot are used to tourists, so can be petted and fed. The ones on the other side are NOT used to that, John happened to touch one that was sitting on a viewer, that one went ballistic, calling for reinforcements from the jungle near by. A policeman and bus driver came to his rescue. John's twin brother Tom was a little worried at the time, telling him the two things those apes destroy first and one of them is your face. NOT kidding. Could only happen to John !! Tom and David both swear John is telling the truth. We had a good Christmas with our family here in OK. We visited Tom and Veronica in Albuquerque at Thanksgiving and will see David and family next month when John and I fly out to see his son Curt graduate boot camp and become a U.S. Marine. I'm VERY proud of him, but Grandma Nova would sorta like to kick him in the knee cap, that's all I could reach since he is 6-5. He'll make a good one. That sounds good Ed. We had a toy drive and pot luck lunch at work last Monday. Somebody brought a honey baked ham and they were supposed to save the bone for me to make beans. Maybe I'll do the navy beans since mine turned out pretty good for the first time a while back. We can't resist getting a ham from Greenlees Grocery at Kilmichael. They prepair them on a rotessery and are the best I have ever gotten for sandwitches and also go good with fried eggs for breakfast. We hope that all of you had a good Christmas and will also have a better New Year... I can't wait to get my Obamas Stimulus Check. I may buy us a 52 inch HD TV. Hi Donnie, all list, Today is a quite day here in drizzling Ga. its cool but not cold, foggy and just a nasty day.. Good day to stay inside and stay warm. I have been thinking about lighting my fire. I just checked the outside temps and it is 52 with about a 10 mile wind, burr it feels much colder since its so damp.... Your right Peggy, now comes the taking down of the outside lights, I guess we will leave the tree up for a few more days, usually after the 1st... How about that Tenn., coal slug mess??? its getting worse all the time...... Stay dry Peggy!!! It didn't warm up much here, even with the sun shining all day. Might have gotten close to 50. I did venture out thinking I might get a haircut but they are closed. I did have my first turkey sandwich for lunch. To me, a turkey sandwich is best before the turkey has been refrigerated. Doesn't take me long to get burned out on leftovers. I had just cooked turkey for Thanksgiving so I might burn out really fast this time. Well, Donnie...It's 70 degrees here today. I have the front and back door open letting the house 'air out'. The Christmas tree (a red cedar) thinks it's back out in the pasture again! We just finished up a late lunch of leftovers. GUess I'll have to cook something fresh for tomorrow and freeze the rest. Don't want to burn the guys out on ham. Donnie, I have a little figurine of Santa laying flat down tired from his travels, the little candle holder he is propped up against has a sign saying Dec 26. I think it is so cute, but Lisa does not, as this is her birthday today. Yep, she was born the day after Christmas on base near Smyna, Tenn. Hi All, We had a house full yesterday so was not online but hope everyone had a Happy Christmas Time. I'm just trying to get my house picked up today, our trash pickup is tomorrow so trying to get it all up and out by then and get the gift wrapping stuff boxed back up and organized somewhat. We're leaving our tree up until Jan. so it will be up when grandson Curt comes home from Marine boot camp. All we were allowed to send him were cards and letters. His dad John and I are going out for his graduation in Jan. I know it will be an emotional experience. Today, Joe's been calling all his bros & sis in Ky. staying in touch with them. I did not get any Christmas Cards out this year. First time since Joe and I have been married. I may start addressing next year's this coming January!! Today is a very warm day here. 69 degrees right now at noon and the sun appears to be coming out soon. Take care everyone! Donnie, we have got the rain here in Miss. We see the sun now & then today, but it's nice out side. At my house, it is finally quiet. Hated to see Val & Joe leave but was glad to see the dogs being put in the truck. How many has gone shopping the day after? I don't know if I could have face all of the people. May go Monday. Hope everyone is over the holidays, so now the tree has to come down. Another big job. So long for now. Peggy > Morning Everybody.
