Nova has got me to writing some stories about my side of the family & giving them to my nephew. They are not as good as Nova's but at lest some of the history will go on. wish I could find who blue John & black John was. Gotta you, I remember a story that my dad told about 2 cousins, & to keep them apart they were call blue John & black John since their names were John, the only way you could tell them apart was the color of their eye, black & blue. Well I know black John was my great uncle. But don't know who blue John is. So Jan, you may have to start putting the stories of the family in a folder, & tell Everett about it, so he will look for it. I know that most of the young people are not interested in family research but when they get older they wish they had listen or wrote it down. So everyone start writing even if it isn't but a few lines at a time. Peggy
Peggy and all: This is Callie C. Young, first wife of Bert Chesteen. They married in Montgomery Co., MS on 16 Jun 1926. His parents were Lawrence Hudson "Jack" Chesteen and Emerline Crossley. --------------------------------------------------- Does anyone know this folks????? Feb. 13, 1931 The Winona Times Winona, Ms. Two Lunacy Cases Here This Week Tuesday in the case of C.T. Clark vs. Sam Young & C.T. Clark vs. Mrs. Callicage Chesteen, Montgomery County saw 2 lunacy cases. In both cases the jury judged the parties insane. They were carried to the state Hospital for Insane at Jackson Wednesday by Sheriff L.L. Latham. Tuesday's hearing were the second for Sam Young. Some time ago an attempt were made to send him to the Hospital for the Insane for treatment & the case were decided in his favor. Sam Young, a young man about 26 years of age is known to nearly all of Winona, having been somewhat of a local character for some time. Mrs. Callicage Chesteen is Young's sister. Don, No, This is the son of Edmond Young Chesteen and Susan E. Holly. Born 186, died 1916. He married second to Frances Emma Skinner about 1891. His first wife is unknown to me. I can't find them on the 1880 census, and she is deceased before 1900. The wife I am looking for would be the mother of Lawrence Hudson "Jack" Chesteen who died in 1957. Thanks. Deb: It was nice to talk with you and your mother the other day. Although I am not a Palmertree descendant, I feel like I am kin to them all. There are some very nice folks on this list. They have been very helpful to me in my family research. I am very busy these days taking my wife to the cancer center just about every day. She spent last night in the hospital where they gave her a blood transfusion. We are hopeful that the Revlimid she is taking will restore her immune system. I know you will agree that it will be nice when Spring finally fully arrives in PA. I will not complain much about the hot weather this summer. If you ever get over to Pottstown (about an hour from Philadelphia) please stop by.
