Well......I had to work as usual and didn't get an Easter egg either. Somebody did leave a little chocolate bar with Easter wrapping on my desk Friday, so I had it today.........Don ----- Original Message ----- From: <kjchowboy@bellsouth.net> To: <palmertree@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 12, 2009 8:10 PM Subject: [PTREE] Easter Prayer > Deb, > > Such a nice Prayer for Easter Morning. > > Thanks for sharing that with us. > > I didn't get not ONE solitary easter egg today. Deb, sure was a beautiful poem. Watch out Ed. It's looking more like rain here this evening. Just hope it isn't bad, but the weatherpeople are saying that we may get some. Haven't had a chance to turn the TV on today. For someone not to have children, my yard today was full again. It's sad when the last one does drive down the driveway. Talk later, Peggy
1st I want to wish everyone a Blessed Easter. He has Risen!!!! I need everyone to get their prayer chains going. This coming Friday April 17th starting at 12 noon I am taking a certification exam for my Case Management certification. I am a RN/BSN and this will look good in the field I work in my job by having the CCM behind my name. And great on a resume if I ever elect to change jobs. I have been studying but since I had my surgery I am having trouble concentrating and then I had another procedure last Wednesday which was unexpected. Please pray that this week as I devote my entire days to studying this material that I retain it. And the day of the test that I feel his presence over me and guides me as I read each question and choose the answer. This is a very had test which I have taken 2 times in the past and is expensive. Several of my friends have taken it multiple times also with no luck. Thanks Deb
A Prayer for Easter Morning 0 Lord Jesus Christ, who upon this day did conquer death and rise from the dead, and who are alive for ever more, help us never to forget your Risen Presence forever with us. Help us to remember, That you are with us in every time of perplexity to guide and to direct; That you are with us in every time of sorrow to comfort and console; That you are with us in every time of temptation to strengthen and to inspire; That you are with us in every time of loneliness to cheer and befriend; That you are with us even in death to bring us to the glory of your side. Make us to be certain that there is nothing in time or in eternity which can separate us from you,so that in your presence we may meet life with gallantry and death without fear. You turn our darkness into light, in your light we shall see light. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. Christ the Lord is risen today! ALLELUIA Author unknown
Thanks Ken, Here's wishing you all a happy Easter!! It is beautiful here in Harlem/Augusta, Ga. land of the Masters golf Tournament...Friday night was a terrifying night for many around the area, we had 5 or 6 tornadoes touch down and destroy houses in the CSRA....but only two deaths reported so far....a friends business got wiped out in Beach Island, S.C. a small community about 30 miles from Harlem... We had one touch down in Harlem but I have not heard of any damages, it was north of my place about 4 miles near the High School... Today is so pretty you wouldn't know anything like that had happened,,, keep all these folks in your prayers, they will be going thru some difficult times..... I hope OD is feeling better and that you all have a good day.... Oh yeah - Question: Q: Why are there fences around cemeteries? A: Because people are just tying (DYING) to get in.
A couple of years, Basil & I went back to Monticello for Easter & the church I was raised up, had sunrise service. But we had it inside the church. I always wonder why they did, but wouldn't ask. Then after the service we had Donuts & coffee. At Winona, a few years the community would met at the Winona football field, & have service. I haven't heard anything about it in a couple of years. Oh, Ken, my dogwoods are almost gone. But they have been real pretty this year.
Were you dress up in a suit & tie? > I remember going to "Sunrise Service" on Easter morning. My family would gather with the regular church members of Centerville Baptist Church to celebrate Christ's Ressurection. The service was held right at sunup in the church cemetery. The cemetery faced the East, and when the sun came up it was such an awesome sight - and an awesome experience. Standing in a cemetery amidst the graves of your ancestors and family buried there. It sure made an impression of just how His followers felt when they arrived at an empty tomb on Ressurection Sunday. In my mind I could just see all those graves opening up and the dead rising. To be honest, those were freaky thoughts to a 10 year old! And now we genealogist don't think anything about prowling through cemeteries at any time of the day or week. Wishing all my cousins on the list a Happy Easter Sunday! Enjoy the day with your loved ones (and maybe not-so-loved ones??). I hope everyone has a beautiful Spring day tomorrow. Gang, Been offline for a few days and haven't had a chance to let you know how we survived up here. I live in middle Tennessee, and the town of Rutherford (where they had 2 tornadoes) is about 25 miles south of here. There were lots of injured, as well as 2 deaths. The deaths were a young mother and her 9 week-old daughter. Sad. The Nashville news weather was on continuously Friday so I got to keep up with the weather minute by minute. A TDOT traffic cam actually picked up one of the tornadoes forming, growing and touching down. This area only had small winds and lots of rain, some hail, too. We were fortunate. Thanks for thinking of me. Ken > Just wondering if anyone had heard from Ken. The weather reports on TV make > it look like tornadoes are close to the area where Ken lives. Just wondered > if he had checked in lately. > > Dorothy
Buckoo, I'm glad you finally let us know that you are not in one of those gullies or better still the funeral home. I call Linda (niece) in Springfield & one was near them also. You knew to hurry up & let us know for I was about the put my hands thru. the comp. & shake you real bad. HA. Good night to everyone. Peggy
Well I have learned a few short cuts cooking my ham, I have a large oval crock-pot and I cook it in there. This time had to trim a couple slices of the side and next thing I knew my husband had them on the grill. I pour a bit of coke on it take the salt out and since the lid won't fit just cover it with foil and then cook it on low all day. I usually need my oven for other things. or if it is hot as blue blazes outside and the last thing I want to do is lite an oven so into the crock-pot it goes and I can later sit back with a ham sandwich and some home grown tomatoes ( I add a tad of mao my husband always tells me I am killing it as he adds a half bottle of mustard to his. ----- Original Message ----- From: "peggy palmertree" <psmpalmertree@bellsouth.net> To: <PALMERTREE@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, April 11, 2009 6:52 PM Subject: [PTREE] weather > > > Thanks Deb for your memories, plus let us know you are ok. Thanks Deb for your memories, plus let us know you are ok. I still haven't heard from Ken. Haven't had time to call his sister, but I bet she went to see her children in Ala. this long weekend. Ed, glad that you are also ok. Those people in Aiken, S.C. could be some of my kin folks. That is where my Mother's father was from. My hill was cover in children hunting eggs this afternoon. The church came here, but about 1 to 1 1/2 hrs it was all over, but I still have the other family. Just wish I had my lunch for Sunday cooked. You're lucky Deb. Too bad they wouldn't say anything for a good ham sandwich, but Aunt Peggy don't do that.
Good Morning Peg, Well we got whacked last night, very strong thunderstorms, high winds and some tornados hit our area... Had a couple killed over in Aiken, S.C., several houses destroyed in Augusta, all the local TV stations went off the air about 11 last night but are back on today... I had no damage at my place or the town of Harlem that I know of...We were very lucky again with this one, it skipped all around us.... The sun is out and the golfers will have two beautiful days of sun and fun at the Masters...... ----- Original Message ----- From: "peggy palmertree" <psmpalmertree@bellsouth.net> To: <PALMERTREE@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, April 10, 2009 10:08 PM Subject: [PTREE] weather > > > Well Ed, Glad you & the golfers are ok. Hi Peggy: Spring is just around the corner here. However, we will still have some cold weather before it finally breaks through. We have a few flowers and trees showing their colors. My wife is still having quite a struggle. She has been in the hospital recently and they still don't know what to do to get her blood counts up.
