Well, if my AOL stays up long enough I will try to send an email. It is stormy so often right now, not that the storms are always coming over us, but if it is over cast and dark my AOL does not work right. So Frustrating to be in the middle of an email or story and whoops, have to jump to save it, if possible. Boy, that was a fast trial, maybe a little too fast, but they just drag them out forever now. I don't see how the witnesses can remember all the details in some cases, if asked something that was not already in some transcript, I don't know if I would remember these days. A Norman man who had real problems shot two women in his family and then would have done more shooting but was taken down by a much older, almost blind former military man, also related to him. That must have been about three years ago and he is just coming up for trial, announced in the paper this week. A lady I know, delivers meds for drug stores, she was supposed to go to that house but arrived just after police cars etc so had to change her plans a bit. A smaller town nearby just "accidently" released a really Bad dude. He had attacked and branded a local teenage girl. I would have a hard time working in the jail I think, just by his photo on TV I would not have wanted to release him, even if cleared. Of course!! they said he probably came to OKC. Guess I'm old and jaded because, I wondered if someone got paid off for helping him? Later, Nova . **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! I am glad everyone is OK after all of the storms that savaged the south. I have been back in the hospital for the past 12 day requiring an additional surgery and has put me back weeks and at this time I am basically home bound with IV antibiotics and incision care. It gets to be hard not being able to do anything but reading the emails are great. I saw Ma Varner's obit that made her look like a model citizen with no mention of her "seedy" past. My plan for August 1st was to have a family reunion at my home but with all that has gone on and it might be another month before I go back to work I have to cancel that and will plan one for next year. Maybe even come to a Hoedown with my mom. Blessing to everyone Deb
Hi Deb, I hope you'll be up and about and doing better real soon. Mark your calendar, June 20 & 21, and come on down for the Hoedown. The more the merrier. A full day of live music, catfish, potluck and visiting on Saturday and more of the same on Sunday, starting out with gospel music. I'm hoping for a big turnout this year. Peggy, This is a strange article. It doesn't say where the shooting occurred - surely not in court?? I think it's interesting because my father's niece (Margaret McDaniel) married into the GALEY family from Carroll County, MS. She married Harold Donald Galey. It's even more interesting because Harold Galey's mother was Anna Ruby Muirhead. "Louie" is a common name in that family, and I believe this Louie Gailey is part of this family. I have a Louis Hugh Galey, son of James M. and Fannie Shute Gailey, born May 1895 in Carroll Co., MS. The age is about right for the below victim, but I don't have a death date for him to verify this. Thanks for the new research topic! Here we go again. From the Montgomery Co., MS Marriage Books, Robert Lee Gregg married Vesta KEMP. So far we haven't been able to determine exactly what Vesta's maiden name was, or who her parents were. >From Billie's obituary it appears that Naomi Gregg White is still living. I used www.switchboard.com and found an address and phone number for her: Naomi M. White, 49 Old Highway 51 N, Winona, MS 38967, 662.283.4747. The same address and phone number appears for Fred D. White, who is Naomi's husband. I don't know why the obituary stated she lives in Vaiden. Would anyone from that area like to call Naomi and see if we can find out what her mother's maiden name was and who Vesta's parents were? Thanks.
