Hi Ken, Jessie says hi and we are doing good here in potato land. The lady's name is Alvia Olivia Talbert. Her maiden name was Howell. She was married to Willie B. Talbert. On the 1900 census it says Talbot. They had three children at that time of death Dec 21 1904. Emma,Arthur and Ruby. After their mom died the kids all went to live with grandpa and grandma Howell. Good luck finding something. Gang, Lynda has told us this, but I just came upon it and wanted to share the article with you. Neighbors said he had just carried several containers of gasoline into the trailer. Ken
Gang, Found this tonight - too funny.. Cleveland Plain Dealer Cleveland Ohio May 9, 1950 Main Street Meditations By Eleanor Clarage The little girl, E. Palmertree reports, had been warned that if she played too roughly with her dog he might snap at her. Sure enough, in the midst of their romp there was a growl from the dog and a scream from the little girl, with marks of the dog's teeth plainly visible on her leg. "Did he bite you?" cried the mother. "No", said the little girl, calmly, "he didn't bite me. I just got too close to his teeth!" Ken

Yeah, I found that article, too. Dallas Morning News Dallas Texas October 10, 1932 Special to The News Palmertree Sentenced to Prison for Murder Paris, TX - October 9 - N. B. Palmertree, charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Jack North here September 19, was found guilty and sentenced to four years in prison. The jury reported late Saturday night after deliberating since Friday afternoon. That's hard to believe - especially in Texas. I wonder what the circumstances were that he didn't get the death penalty? Ken, In all my roaming around with this MYSTERY. Even though it was in THE WRONGSTATE!! You must have subconsciously known this . Glad that your inclination aboutBatesville, Ms. paid off!! Speaking of James Palmertree -- enlisted as(a private) @ Camp Douglas, Illinois1864 or1865-think this army camp was in Chicago at that time. He was in the hospital from 1864/1866 in Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. Found this in the computerized service records. I found a Hiram Palmertree in Woodland, Carroll Co(I assume) Illinois in 1855-- born I think in 1799(would this be Dr. Hiram Palmertree)? Found a Fred Palmertree from Troy, Will Co(?), Illinois. I think born in 1855 -- died in 1869. There was a Brian S. Palmertree (this must be Calvin P's son) b:1992 in Ms.- Seemsthat he was in Teas from 1993 till 2001. NO more info. on him. I found a Mary A. Palmertree B:1843 D:1860 in Cook County, Illinois Found a bunch of Douglas in Ill. I guess the MayorGovernor(not sure which of Ill.) a Douglas---woops!! Glad you solved the Mystery. That WILD GOOSE chase that I put myself was fun!! So extremely glad that you feel well enough again to research(from the looks of the Palmertrees that you listed you did a TREMENDOUS JOB. You deserve at least 10stars!! Hope that you continue to feel better(I THINK you have had enough suffering). Hey, cuzzins Lynda and Jesse! I guess we've both been incognito for a while, huh? Interesting that you have found some great info on your TALBERT side. If you would tell me the name of the woman who died in the fire, I will see if I can come up with anything for you. Hope all is well. Doing much better since my episode last year. I'm thankful to be around. Guess God isn't ready for me yet - why, I don't know. Anyway, tell cousin Jesse hello for me. Hope all is well out in potato land - ha ha ha. Ken -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of JESSIE PALMERTREE Sent: Tuesday, November 22, 2011 11:11 AM To: Palmertree Mailing List Subject: [PTREE] apology Hi to all our family on line, I guess I really don't have a good excuse for not saying much on line this past year. I have been reading everything posted and enjoying all except the death of all our love ones that we have lost on this line this year. My prayers have always been with you all. About a month ago I got a bee in my bonnet and went to work on my Talbert side of the family. I just was not able to get past my grandpa Talbert. It was just a brick wall. Then my cousin ask me a question and that made me go though some of my mom's things I had put off going though. Well I found two letters and a address list and some things started falling into place. I started looking on familysearch.org and found some of the family listed as Talbot. In one of the letters from a cousin of my dad she said that her brother and sister and herself had to go and live with their grandpa and grandma on their mom's side after their mom died in a fire on Dec. 21 1904 in Summit Ms and is buried at Johnson Station ms. Would like to find a new paper clipping of that but that might be hard to get. Any way I found the kids living with their grandpa and grandma listed as Talbot. I went to the LDS history family center and they helped me confrim what I had found and looked up some more fo! r me. They were very nice at helping me. I am sending for two death certificates so wish me the best on that one. So much for my Talbert side of the family. I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and have a great time with your family. So, her maiden was BURTON, not BURT? Thanks. Guess I'll have to find out who her real parents were, now... I'm still confused, because the Attala County Marriage Index sure gave her name as Burt. Guess it was an error on the clerk's part. Hi to all our family on line, I guess I really don't have a good excuse for not saying much on line this past year. I went to the LDS history family center and they helped me confrim what I had found and looked up some more for me. They were very nice at helping me. I am sending for two death certificates so wish me the best on that one. So much for my Talbert side of the family. I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and have a great time with your family. Lynda
Thanks Ken for posting this info. I tried to get a hold of Donna Traywick last year about this time and wasn't able to reach her. At least now I know that she was still with us in July. Will give it another try now. Ken good to see you back on line. I think this is the 25 year old that had a 4-wheeler accident several months ago. He's been in a coma ever since and died late yesterday or early today. I think he is part of the McGlothin family of French Camp. He is the father of a small child. Made 2 sweet potatoe rolls/logs yesterday, then this morn. 2 pecan pies & got 2 sweet tata pies in oven now. So come on down & we may have turkey or ham sandwichs. Hope your children & the grands are doing ok. Val will bring Basil's grands Thur. (4 dogs). Remeber those old skinny dogs that was around here the time you & Jesse was here, will there is another that is even worse. Jesse I think you need to come down to take care of "it". I like dogs but I don't want someone elses to feed. Even dog feed to getting to high when they are not your own. I know-I'm being bad. Better go check on the pies. I pulled up the Oliver Funeral home & there was a incomplete arrangement of Brandon West of French Camp. He died today, Nov 22 at Sanctury Hosice. He was 24. Just wondering if anyone was kin to him
Good to hear from you. And really glad you made a break thru on your brick wall. That is really neat when you start finding things. I wish I was better at researching than I am. Good luck on finding more. Nova . In a message dated 11/22/2011 11:14:58 A.M. Dr. Rosamond from West, MS was the doctor that delivered me. Guess he is kin to these. Can't remember his first name but will look later. -----Original Message----- From: Ken Jackson Sent: Tuesday, November 22, 2011 1:16 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [PTREE] Rosamond family Donna and Kathy (and all), John Moore Rosamond married Martha Ella Burt.
