Here is my dead-end for my REIMERT line. If anyone has any info., I would be forever grateful. I am trying to discover who David's parents were. Name: David REIMERT Sex: Male Individual Facts Birth bet 1822 and 1826 in Pennsylvania Occupation Laborer (bet 1850 and 1860) (age 28) Death 2 Oct 1897 in Greenwich Township, Berks County, PA (age 75) Burial 4 Oct 1897 in Kutztown, Berks County, PA (age 75) Marriages/Children 1. Sallie (Sarah) AHN Marriage bef 1848 in Pennsylvania (age 26) Children Thomas REIMERT (9 May 1848-13 Nov 1862) Willoughby A. REIMERT (21 May 1850-3 Sep 1931) Edwin REIMERT (abt 1853-) Hiram REIMERT (11 May 1854-aft 1861) Hamilton REIMERT (abt 1856-) Sarah K. E. REIMERT (abt 1859-) Notes Birth1,2,3: Age is shown as 38 on 1860 Federal Census Age is shown as 24 on the 1850 Federal Census Occupation4,5: David's death certificate lists his occupation as a laborer Death6: David died of Apoplexy Definition: Uncontrolled bleeding into an organ; for example, adrenal apoplexy is bleeing into the adrenal glands, pituitary apoplexy is bleeding into the pituitary gland, and so on. The term apoplexy (with no organ specified) often refers to bleeding into the brain. Conditions such as subarachnoid hemorrhage or stroke are sometimes called apoplexy. Burial7: General8,9,10: David is listed as David REIMERD in the index to the 1860 census, however the handwriting on the census documents was clearly a T instead of a D. I can only assume that the indexer could not read the handwriting or made a mistake. David's name was spelled correctly as REIMERT on the 1850 Census. There was a 7 year old male named James living in the household with David, Sarah, Willoughby, and Thomas on the 1850 Census. Because of the age difference of 5 years between Thomas and James, and the fact that Sarah would have been about 15 when he was born, I don't believe him to be a child. He was not present on the 1860 Census, so he may have died or moved in with another family member. Sources 1. 1860 Federal Cencus for Berks Cnty., PA.
