Hello~ I am looking for information on my ancestor, Charles B. FLIEHR. I'd like to know which churches he was with, in which cities during his short term as an Evangelical minister. I'm very interested in his life as a minister. Since they moved around alot, it has been very difficult to pinpoint them after he became a minister. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is all the information I have been able to find on him: Charles B. FLIEHR was born in Midweitz, Saxony, Germany about 1822. He came to the America, as a young man, about 1845, settling first in Millerstown (now Macungie), Lehigh County, PA. He worked there as a coverlet weaver with Carl Boettger, signing their coverlets "Manuf: by Fliehr & Boettger, Millerstown, Lehigh Co., PA." >From Lehigh County, he moved on to Weissport, Carbon County, PA where he wove coverlets & carpets. He gave up the occupation of weaver & became an Evangelical minister around 1863. He was successfully stationed at Bangor, Easton, Catasauqua, Allentown, Philadelphia, & in Brooklyn, NY & NYC. He died at Macungie, PA about 1885 & is buried at Emmaus, PA. He was married to Catharine HERMAN (abt 1820-1900). They were married by Rev. Francis Hoffman April 18, 1847. In the 1850 census, they were living in Lower Macungie, Lehigh Co., PA Charles was listed as 28 years old & Catharine was 30. They had 2 sons at the time of this census: Charles B. FLIEHR age 2 born in PA married Elizabeth ________ Soloman R. FLIEHR age 4 months born in PA married Messina _________ They later had the following children: Pauline FLIEHR married Henry SCHULER Aaron FLIEHR Harrietta FLIEHR married Mr. STEITZEL Daniel FLIEHR ( born 5/12/1858 in Franklin Twp, Carbon Co., PA) married Sallie ECKERT Daniel became a judge in Coopersburg, PA.
