Hi, I am addressing this message to the list in the hope that someone out there knows anything about this Quarry accident (explosion) to whom Tom Bowman refers. His great-grandfather Oscar Gruver was killed in this accident. My great-grandfather, Martin Gutekunst, was also killed in such an accident about the same time. I don't know if it was the same one but it seems as though it might be. He was the teamster driving the wagon which contained the explosives and he was killed instantly. His son, Clarence Gutekunst, was my grandfather. He was born in 1883 and was the youngest of ten children. He was quite young at the time of the accident.
