    3. Hi All Thanks to everyone that replyed to my question dealing with archiving the mail list. The majority of those that response wanted the lists to be archived which I will do. There was mention by one or two of the concern of people being spam. And I can understand the concern. Below is a little bit of the information that Karen Isaacson of Rootsweb wrote to the listowners concerning this problem and what they were going to do. "So, what do we intend so that the web-crawlers don't scoop up all your addresses? A front door, of sorts. Anyone accessing the archives, either the threaded ones or the search engine or, ultimately, the search engine to the threaded messages, will have to come in via a particular page. The page will have a box in it. In the box, you'll type the name of the mailing list. Then you click on"submit" and are deposited on a page (build on the fly by a cgi-bin script) that lets you search the archives, or follow a link to the threaded messages. Brian says he can set this up so that, once you're in the "archive area", you can easily go from page to page, but that if you try to jump into the middle, you'll instead be diverted to the front door where you have to type a list name. So no robo-crawler will be able to wander through our message bases collecting addresses, but your listmembers won't have to remember a "password." I myself have found that its hard to get your email address private on the internet. Have went to several places where you can search for e-mail addresses and have found mine posted. Even though I'd didn't list it. Hope no one will leave the list (have close to 100 on one list and little over 100 subscriber on the other list) because of this. But decided to go with what the majority wanted. If anyone has any questions please contact me at judjack@rocketmail.com or judjack@hotmail.com Again thanks for listening and responsing. Pardon the spelling my fingers seem to be working faster than my brain this morning. My Grandmother was Pennsylvania Dutch and made dumpling stuffed with some type of sausage or meat and cooked in a broth. Melt in your mouth remember it from when I was a kid and when we would go visit she'd always make it. But never came across a recipe that was just right. And she was one that never went by a recipe. Just a little of this and that. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
