I'm new to this list, but my research on the PETER(S) family in Crawford and Venango Cos., PA just came to a screeching halt! I'm descended from Adam PETERS (1788-1861). I have records of his being in Crawford/Venango Cos. from about 1825 until his death in 1861. He's buried in the Peters Cemetery, Canal Twp., Venango Co., PA. He appears on the 1830 census in Crawford Co., (Mead Twp), PA: in 1840, 1850 and 1860 he's found in Canal Twp., Venango Co. But where did he move from? A study of the 1820 PA census index indicates that many PETERS (and PETER) were living in Heidelberg Twp., Lehigh Co. Does anyone have any information on this family ? Any help would be appreciated!
