Denise: I have just subscribed to this list as a part of a start toward finding out more on my gt gt Grandmother Eliza Snyder (born ~ 1830), who came from Catassaugua, PA. from "Penn. Dutch" folks. She married Benjamin Franklin Custer in 1851 and then lived in Altoona until her death in 1909. I have a source that gives her parents as Jonathan and Mary Snyder. She would have been a contemporary of your Esther Snyder. She had a cousin, Elizabeth, who lived on a farm in the "Dry Lands" about 12 miles above Catasauqua. Could these be any relation?
