Hi: My name is Fletcher Bishop and I'm new to the list. I have connections to the Sackreiter family which lived in New Hanover c. 1750-1790. Some of their activities may be in Northhampton records which is why I am posting here as well as the Montgomery Co. list. Christian Sackreiter married Magdalena Warthman d/o Hans Adam and Elizabeth. I have baptismal church records for the children of Christian and Magdalena as well as sponserships. Christian was probably Reformed and Magdalena was probably Lutheran. The records vary from New Hanover Lutheran to Falkner Swamp Reformed. I just learned from Tohickon Union Church records that Christian was buried by Reformed Pastor Nicholas Pomp and his mother was buried by John William Ingold as noted in said Tohickon records. The church and cemetery is in Bucks Co., rather than Montgomery. Magdalena does not appear in any burial records. Could she be buried under her Warthman name? One of Christian's sons, Heinrich Sackreiter and wife Catherine have children baptized by the Reformed Congregation of Lower Saucon and also Mt. Bethel Lutheran and Reformed bboth of which have been labeled Northampton. Christian and Magdalena sponsered a Beyer; a Bernhart Dodderer sponsored a Sackreiter. A Broat (sp) was next door to Christian in the 1790 census. I have several tidbits from Henry Dotterer's Perkiomen Region volumes and the map seems to indicate that some of both Montgomery and Bucks counties were once Northampton. If someone on the list studies any of these families and could give me any clues about the Sackreiters, I would be grateful. In my years on the NET I have never run into someone studying the PA Sackreiters. Fletcher Bishop in FL
