Hello, all! I am researching a DEVER family that lived in Allentown c. 1850-1860. My husband's g-grandfather, James Dever, was born in Allentown in 1855-56. His parents were Cornelius Dever and Bridget DUNBOG, both of Ireland (possibly County Armaugh). Since the Lehigh County courthouse does not have birth certificates that far back, I thought I might try baptism certificates. Does anyone know what church Irish Catholics would have attended during the 1850s and 1860s in Allentown? Is that church still in existance? If so, do you have an address and phone number?
