I am looking for any information of a Burkhardt Heintz. His name could also be Haines, Henns, Heinz, Haines, etc. There are many variants of this surname. Burkhardt Heintz came to the New World in 1754. Within a year or so he found his way to Lehigh Co., PA where he married Catharine Nickels in 1757. After staying a few years he moved to Richmond Twp., Berks Co., PA where he stayed until 1789. At this point I have lost him. All of his children also have disappeared except for one. It is quite probable that he died around this time and his wife remarried or moved on to a different area. He also did not own land. My belief is that he worked the land for money and lived wherever he could. In 1789 he might have just decided to find greener pastures and travelled to other counties or he died and is buried in a field without any markers. If anybody is related to this person I would like to hear from you. If you have come across his name in any cemetery, church or minister's records I would like to hear from you. Hopefully somebody out there might be able to help me locate Burkhardt Heintz. Thank you. John Hains 26 Stevens Street Bernardsville, NJ 07924-2258 (908) 766-3143 (Home)
