    3. ok, some of it may be in Lehigh County, but I believe this to be more recent than pre-1900 or so... I also question the use of LARGE portion. I have not consulted maps (yet, but intend to do so)... I would venture to say maybe 1/8 of the city is in Lehigh County... I would have thought that the State would have had more common sense than to erect a county line through a city... I'm trying not to confuse people, and believe me, I did when I started... For genealogy purposes, I've told people that the city is in Northampton County, as I believed that pre-1900; Bethlehem may have existed solely in Northampton County... If this wrong, let me know; I am aware that today there is a portion of the west end in the county of Lehigh... not sure how long its been in lehigh though... Always willing to hear the answer...
