Dimmick, Dan. One the first attorney at the Pike Co. Bar, was a son of Deacon Oliver Dimock, and Sarah (Gurley) Dimock, of Mansfield, CT and was born March 1, 1775. He came to PA in 1800, he died Feb, 1825. He married Jane, d/o Josephus Jacobut Aerts/aka Dr. Francis Smith, of Stroudsburg, Monroe Col. She died March 1842. Children; Lucinda, w/o Judge Nathaniel B. Eldred, Sally who married C.C.D Pinchot, Oliver S., Dan, Milo Melancthon, Milan, William H., of Wayne Co., Milton and Lavinia E. Oliver S. Dimmich, 3rd child and 1st son of Dan and Jane, was born in Milford June 11, 1804. He married Maria, d/o Jacob Hornbeck, Feb 19, 1826. He died in Port Jervis, N.Y. Oct, 1877. Children; Lucinda, w/o W.O. Dimmick, of Port Jervis, Milo H., Mary, married Lucien F. Barnes, of Milford, Priscilla, Jacob H. of Port Jervis, Wiliam H., of Honesdale. Milton Dimmock was born in Milford, June 26, 1816, 8th child and 6th son of Dan. and Jane, he married in 1842 to Sarah Elizabeth, d/o Rev. Edward Allen. Children, Edward C., of Honesdale, and later of Mauch Chunk, Carbon Co. Alice married J. S. Carpenter, of Neward, NJ and Kate. War of 1812 There were a few soldier from Pike Co. in the War of 1812, but it is impossiblee to ascertain the names of all. The following were chiefly from Pike and the portion of Northampton Co, which is now Monroe. Some whose names are included in the roster were from Lehigh Co, but as it is impossible to effect a through separtion of the entire roll is presented. Captain John Dornblaser, 1st Lt. John V. Biddis, John Sr., of Phila. Children, Catharine, w/o Hugh Ross, Edward, Sarah married James Barton. Barton had 3 daughters, Ann, who was the wife of John Clark. Of Clark's children, Theodosia, wf of Oscar Mott and Augustus, wf of William E. Salomon Esq.
