    1. Egypt Church
    2. I hope I can help you with an explanation. There is probably more than one possibility as to why those years records are not included in the records. I also have a copy of the Egypt records that were translated by Charles R. Roberts and published in 1905. These are also missing the records from 1745 thru 1751. One explanation is the records were lost. Another reason could be this. From "The History of the Ministerium of the Allentown Conference" Egypt Union Church Summary - remember this is before 1764 The first church was erected in 1764 as a Union Church. So most baptisms and other services where held in the settlers homes prior to this by pastors from other churches. Rev. John Philip Boehm as early as 1734 [he was located at Whitpain] contained the Reformed records from the Egypt district. The church records from Jordan, Saucon, Morgan Hill and Macungie also contain frequent entries [especially baptisms] from settlers in Whitehall [Egypt is in Whitehall Twp.]. The neighboring pastors ministered to them in spite of the absence of a place of worship. The reformed report visits from John Philip Boehm, J.H.Goetchius, John Conrad Wirtz, Michael Schatter[1747] and John Jacob Wissler. The Lutheran from Friedrich Schertlein, John Joseph Roth, and Daniel Schumacher. Both Schertlien and Schumacher whose parishes extended over much of Lehigh and Bucks County, with Weissenberg as it's center, serviced Egypt as much as possible even though Egypt had at least a 12 or more places of worship. Quote [notice the dates] The Union services in the Jordan Church between 1745 - 1752, when the Reformed built there own church, no doubt, furnished church facilities for the majority of the Whitehall settlers, until a number of Settlers in the Egypt district had become sufficiently numerous to warrant the erection of a church in 1764. So maybe the records you need are in the Jordan Church or any of the other churches or ministers listed above. Try this site to give yourself an idea of the area. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/maps/pa/county/lehigh/usgs/ Hope this helps. By the way, who are you researching? Jean
