Hello People, Once again I need some help, hopefully someone in the Lehigh Valley can help me. Living in Arizona, as I do, I can't run to the Historical Society or the Court house to look for tax records. I am looking for MARY or MARIA ABELONIA (APPELONIA ) ACKER. She was born on 11 November 1824. Somehow she is connected to the Hunsicker family from Heidelberg Twp. I have checked Ancestry and Family Search, but can find no information. I have the "The History of Heidelberg Union Church," can't find anything in there either. So, any info I can get would be helpful. Thanks in Advance, Anna in AZ P S I was born In Allentown and lived there for half of my life. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
The family tree called "Eastern PA Ancestors" on Ancestry World Tree has the following entry: Mary Abelonia Acker Birth: 11 NOV 1824 in Pennsylvania Death: 13 NOV 1909 Residence: 1850 Heidelberg Twp., Lehigh Co., PA 1 Marriage 1: Owen Hunsicker b: 23 JUN 1818 in Heidelberg Twp., Lehigh Co., PA c: 9 AUG 1818 in Heidelberg Union Church, Saegersville, Heidelberg Twp., Lehigh Co., PA Children Lewis Hunsicker b: ABT. 1846 in Lehigh Co., PA Abigail Maria Hunsicker b: 3 JUL 1848 in Lehigh Co., PA Marriage 2: Stephen Alfred Reber b: 25 DEC 1819 in Heidelberg Twp., Lehigh Co., PA Married: BET. 1848 - 1851 Children Edwin A. There is more than one history of this church. The one Ancestry.com has online is from the 200th anniversary in 1940, but there was another one published in 1978 in which the editor, Raymond E. Hollenbach, made every effort to track down all of the existing records from that church, including those found in pastors' personal records. Hollenbach's 1978 history and other records from Heidelberg Church are also available from the LDS library. There should be a Family History Center near you where you can borrow them.
