I am trying to find information about Ephraim Clader and his family. This is the information I have so far. 1. Ephraim CLADER1 was born about 1821. He died 6 Apr 1882 in Columbus OH. Obituary in AllentownDemocrat, 12 April 1882 Ephraim Clader, who left here on Saturday week for Columbus, Ohio, with a view of entering the Soldiers' Home in said city, died in the hospital of the said institution on Thursday last, having been taken with illness very soon after his admission. He was a butcher by trade, and known by almost everybody in Allentown. Responding promptly to the first call for men to oppose their arms and lives to armed rebellion, he entered the service ofhis country as a member of the 47th Penna. Regiment, Col. Good, and served to the end of the war. He brought his age to 61 years. Two of his sons reside in Allentown, both of them being deaf mutes. 1850 U.S. Census, Allentown, PA, Page 330 KLEADER, Ephraim, Age 29, Butcher Catharine, Age 29, Wife James L., Age 7, Son Allen F., Age 5, Son William H., Age 3, Son 1860 US CENSUS, ALLENTOWN LEHIGH CO. Civil War Record Ephraim Clader Enlisted as a Private on 30 August 1861 Enlisted in Company B, 47th Infantry Regiment Pennsylvania on 30 August 1861 Mustered out on 18 September 1864 I have a copy of his Civil War record, along with a copy of his son James' record. Ephraim's wife Catharine and their son James L. are buried in the Allentown West End Cemetery. James was a casualty of the Civil War, having died at Antietam. I am searching for information regarding Ephraim's parents, his marriage to Catharine, (along with her maiden name, etc.) and confirmation of birth and/or baptism for their children. I strongly suspect records may be held at Zion's (now UCC) Reformed Church in Allentown. If anyone on this list has access to those records, I would be very grateful for any help you can give.
