Hi, Here is Number 36 of the 1895 obituaries from Allentown Sue Stephen Hauser Thursday, November 7, 1895 Column About four weeks ago, Stephen Hauser, a shoe manufacturer, residing at No 531 North Eighth Street, went to Chambersburg to visit an adopted son who is located at that (Stephen Hauser) place. While there, he met with an accident which resulted in fracturing an arm. He was improving rapidly from his injuries, when he was stricken with apoplexy, which resulted in his death. The body arrived at the Terminal in his death, last evening and was taken to the home of his aged widow. Deceased was in his 73rd year. The funeral will take place from his alte home on Saturday morning at 8 o’clock. Services and burial at the Howertown Church. Interment at Fairview Cemetery. Lewis J. Hausman Saturday, March 9, 1895 Obituary Lewis J. Hausman, a member of the grocery firm of L. J. Hausman and Co., Sixth and Walnut Streets, died yesterday morning at his home, No 810 Walnut Steet from consumption, aged 37 years old. He had been in ill health for more than a year and bedfast since Christmas. Deceased was born near Mickley’s and for a number of years held a clerical position with the Lehigh Valley Railroad. A year ago, he started in the grocery business with his father-in-law, John Schwartz. He is survived by his wife and son, both parents and a brother, John Hausman. Services and burial at the Rittersville Church. Florence Eugenia Hay Monday, April 8, 1895 Obituary Mrs. Florence Eugenia Hay, wife of Rev. C. E. Hay, pastor of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, died on Friday night at her home, No 1107 Walnut Street. She had been in failing health for several years and for the past three months she was confined to bed. Mrs. Hay was a daughter of Rev. Albert G. Dole, a Reformed Pastor, and wife (nee Jeffries). She was born at Bloomsboro, Maryland and prior to her marriage to Rev. Mr. May she lived with her parents at Milton, Philadelphia, Shippensburg, and Huntingdon. She was married on May 10, 1881, to Rev. Hay while the latter was pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, this city. The husband and one daughter, Miss Lilliam Hay, the aged mother and three brothers and sisters survive. John J. Dole, of Curwensville, Clearfield County; Miss S. Lizzie Dole of this city; Mrs. Kate A. Huff of Tioga and Mrs. Lou Smith of Philadelphia. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning. Death Notice Hay, fell asleep in this city, April 5, 1895. Funeral services at the residence of her husband, No 1107 Walnut Street on Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock to which the friends and relatives are respectfully invited without further notice. Interment in Harrisburg, Pa. Same day. Funeral of Florence E. Hay, (Mrs. Rev. C. E. Hay) was held yesterday morning from her late home, No 1107 Walnut Street. Many friends gathered at the house to do honor to the memory of a woman whose life was given to the work of Christianity and charity. The body was dressed in a white shroud and reposed in a black cloth covered cedar casket. At the head of the casket was placed a floral crown, tribute of the grief-stricken husband. In her hand, she held a lily, which as the offering of her little daughter, Lillian. Other floral tributes were as follows: Gates ajar, St. Matthew’s Lutheran Sunday School; bouquet, Mr. J. W. Wood, bouquet, the Misses, Millie and Margaret Spatz, carnations, Mrs. W. H. Marter, Philadelphia; carnations, Mr. and Mrs. G. Ellsworth; lyre, Sunday School Class; bouquet, Mr. K. Kleppinger, bouquet, Mrs. John Parton; roses, Mrs. W. A. Hassler. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Drs. J. A. Singmaster, S. G. Wagner and S. A. Repase. The music was by the choir of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and the hymns song were “There is a Calm for those Who Weep” Asleep in Jesus, and There is a Haven of Peaceful Rest.” The body was taken to Harrisburg on the 10:15 p.m. East Penn train for interment. Charles Heard Wednesday, January 23, 1895 Death Notice A terrible death on the railroad. Charles Heard, a Penn Argyl slater, was found dead yesterday along the Bangor and Portland Railroad at Belfast with both legs cut off. It is presumed that while walking on the track, he was struck by a passenger train leaving Easton, Monday night and that he bled to death during the night. He was 35 years old and leaves a family. Reuben Heberling Tuesday, September 17, 1895 Obituary Reuben Heberling, an old and respected citizen of Lehighton, died last Thursday morning from hasty consumption. He leaves a wife, four sons and two daughters. He is also survived by his sister, Mrs. June Obert, and one brother, John Heberling of Lehigh. He was a veteran of the late war and a member of Col. John D. Bartolette Post No 481, G. A. R. The funeral was held yesterday. Jennie D.
