(m.d.) of stroudesburg. the de long family, which is of french origin. the dr's grandfather de long was born 25 dec 1787, and the greater portion of his life was spent at allentown and sunbury, he moved to indiana and died in indianapolis in his 88th year. he was in the war of 1812, 16th regt. his wife elizabeth black, waa born oct. 16, 1785. children; edward, pollie married henry faus of buck horn, columbia co., (pollie died in flordia), henry, william, jesse born aug 2, 1814, of schuylkill co., catharine born jan. 16, 1816, single. edward, father, was born in fishing creek, columbia co, in 1808, his wf. isabelle rishel. children; one died in infancy, other subect. dr. de long was born nov 3, 1834 in bloomsburg, columbia co. grad of yale. civil war vet. he married elisabeth e. eilenbergr. children; william e., a druggist, of phila., pa., one died in infancy, isabelle died in childhood, g.w. died age 4, eugene of grad of jefferson medical college at phila., practing at berks co, he married a miss zetter and had 3 children ( david, esther, eugune), charles of phila., pa. mrs. de long is of german descent on the paternal side, her great-grandfather eilenberger having been the first to come to america. her grandfather eilenberger was born in northampton co, his wife susan harts died at advanced age. they had 8 children; sarah, w/o __ smith, jonas, jacob, william, david, catharine, one not named and frederick. william eilenberger, the father was born in northampton co., he married sarah frutchey and both lived till age 70. mrs. de long's maternal grandfather frutchey in early life lived in easton. his son william frutchey. william and sarah frutchey had children, 4 died in childhood, pauline w/o philip short, susannah w/o levi rasily, hannah, w/o peter mille, elisabeth (mrs. de long), matilda w/o henry schoch, sarah, w/o jesse hillard, with the exception of mrs. de long, they all lived in northampton co. de long, william f. was born nov 30, 1845, s/o solomon and sally de long. the former lived in allentown. grandfather de long was a resident of lowhill, while his father was indentified in north white township. william f. married 1868 to jane a. newhard, children;minnie and clement, who died at ae 9m lehigh co. history according to the new england genealogical register, there lived in ulster co., n.y in 1711 a certain francis de long, the father of 4 sons. peter de long, the ancestor of the berks co. de long, migrated from ulster co., n.y to pa., and settled in maxattawny, berks co. (then phila. co.) in 1739. he married in 1722 to eva elizabeth weber, d/o jacob and his wife anna elisabeth. mr. weber was a member of the famous rev. joshua kocherthal colony, which settled in dutchess co., ny. in the spring of 1709. in a record of the colony made in april 1710, we find the following mention of him and his family. "jacob weber, age 30, husbandman; his wife anna elisabeth, 25 and their children, anna maria, 5 and eva elisabeth, 1.
