    3. Does some one know what was the custom of naming German children in the 1700's and 1800's. One custom I heard was the first born son was to honor the father's father , the second to honor the wife's father, then the third was to honor the father. It seem the female followed a similar custom. Are there any other customs? Gordon A. Koerner
