Gordon, I don't know the age of my Peter Shlosser/Schlosser but the was alive and a widower in 1764. His wife Regina had died by 1764 which was the date of his father in law's will. Yes, you can join the DAR if your ancestor signed an oath of allegiance. They are considered a patriot when they sign the oath. Janet Gordon A.
