Assuming you were correct in your guess that Matilda was born in Macungie, I checked for her in the surrounding areas. On the Hinkle Surname Message Board on Ancestry.com, I've just posted images for what I believe is the family of George and Maria Elizabeth Hinkle, parents of "Matilda" Hinkle, in the Lower Macungie Township censuses from 1840 through 1880. If this looks like it is your family, you should probably check the records of Lehigh Church (also known as Zion Church), Lower Macungie Twp., as well as Grace Lutheran Church and Solomon's United Church of Christ, Borough of Macungie. Good luck! She was Born September 26, 1853, possibly in Macungie. She married John P.F. Beil, of Allen Township, Northampton Co., circa 1896, and had one daughter in 1898 in Phila, Edna Marie Beil. I have records of her in the 1900, 1920 and 1930 Census in Abington Township, Montgomery County, after she married John P.F. Beil, but nothing before that. I don't know her parents names but I have one source that says her father was born in Germany. Thanks for any help. Albert W.
