    3. rev. war shook, john, no unit of service given, soldier marrie prior to 1790 at easton, pa (wife's name not given) and soldier died about 1835 leaving no widow but 5 children but only names shown were mrs. rosina pence and mrs. polly gangawer, who applied 1855 in northampton co., pa. war of 181 kemmere henry, wf elisabeth, srv capt. abraham gangwere's co., pa. mil kwmmwewe john no pension, srv capt hawk's pa. mil. dutt, daniel or daniel duth wf mary kennerer, married may 1803 lehigh co., pa, soldier died 25 oct 1886, lived in lehigh co. allentown, pa. frederick kemmerer, soldier of the rev., came here soon after the war, died dec. 1843 age 87. buried with military honors. kemmeerer, martin is both on the paternal and maternal side of german descent. his grandfather henry kemmerer, lived in salisbury twp. his children were jacob, george, john, adam, henry, martin, and 3 daughters. martin, youngest of these sons married deborah walter and had children-maria w/o adan laudenschlager, philip, henry, david, solomon, martin and daniel. mr. kemmerer moved to upper milford (1821) died 1854. his son marin, was born in salisbury, dec 28, 1818, he marrried sarah bruner, d/o j.w. bruner of upper milford, whose children are william, deceased, mary ann, w/o jacob m. backenstoe of salisbury, sarah a., w/o philip b. kemmerer of il., leah, w/o thomas leidy of berks co and martin, deceased. member of st. michael's ch. of allentown. kemmerer, jacob moved from saucon twp to heidelberg in the early part of his life, previous to 1754. he was a great hunder. he also acted or was as caption over a squard 9f men who went from here across the blue mt. to gnadenhutten to bury those who had been killed by the indians. he died about 1825. he had a brother fritz, who was a miller in allentown. salisbury twp the first of the family of kemmerer to settle in salisbury w. t. kemmerer, a native of wurtemberg, who took land, about 1744, now owned by martin kemmeer, his grandson. later, heinrich, his son,, who was assessed in 1781. his son were jacob, george, john, adam, henry and martin. his daugs. became the wives of bortz, reinhat and ritter. 1. jacob settled on the line between bucks and montgomery co, he died 1828 2. george settled near the little lehigh. he died in 1845, age 86. he had 2 children, george, lived at emaus, died 1883 age 85, lydia married lawrence klein 3. john settled on cedar creek and died 1845 age 80. his son solomon, now lives on the place, aged 84. a dau. mrs. ___ gangwere resides in whitehall twp. 4. adam settled in whitehall and died 1850, aged 80. a son george and a dau. mrs. minnich. 5. henry of emaus, died 1855 age 83. 2 das. mrs. snyder and mrs. larrich both of northampton co, samuel a son moved to allentown, died 1879, age 64 6. martin, moved to upper milford, he died 1854 age 76. children, philip of ohio, david of ohio, henry killed on the way to iowa in 1854, solomon died 1864, marin, daniel, maria, w/o adam laudenslager of zionville. carbon co. kemmerer, mahlon, the family having been early settlers of cherry valley, monroe co. among the children who resided in the above co, was charles, a native of cherry valley. he married mary ann price, d/o john, an early lumberman of that vicinity, whose children were a son, mahlon s. and a dau. annie, w/o w. w. watson of scranon. mrs. kemmere, after the death of her husband, married walter leisenring, who children were gertrude h. w/o t. m. righter, ada l., w. albert c. and walter. mahlon s. kemmerer was born aug. 27, 1843 in cherry valley, moved to carbon co. he married dec 1, 1868 to annie l. d/o hon. john leisenring of mauch chunk. children, john l., mahlon l. and gertrude l.     3. Geri - I decend from Kemmerer's also from Cherry Valley. A Grandfather Joseph Kemmerer, his Daughter Catharine Ann Kemmerer married Henry Houser, their Daughter Katie Houser married Theodore Hile. Does this line of Kemmerer's ring any bells with you? Do you know anything about them.
