schuylkill co. huber, levi (major), s/o michael and regina elizabeth (ulher) huber of pine grove, born nov. 9, 1818 grandfather huber was a native of germany, but when a young man emigrated to switzerland and then to america. died in lebanon co. in april, 1796, michael huber, father, was born in lebanon, migrated to pine grove, schuylkill co., about 1809. he was a member of the german ref. ch. he married regina elizabeth ulher, d/o christopher ulher, a native of wurtemberg, germany, who emigrated at an early age to lebanon co., where he died. by this marriage there was a family of 10 boys and 1 girl. major huber married margaret stackpole, d/o thomas, near mc veytown, juniata co. children; ivanhoe s. of shamokin, northumberland co., elizabeth, w/o frank carpenter of bloomsburg, frederick t. of n.y. n.y., john of long island city, n.y. and sarah a. major huber srv. cp. b. 96th reg. lebanon co. gerhart, conrad g. (hon.), mayor of the city of lebanon, was born there sept. 16, 1841, s/o william and elizabeth (uhler) gerhart. conrad gerhart, his grandfather was a native of germany. william gerhart, s/o conrad and father of hon. conrad was born in lebanon he died june, 1890, in the 89th year of age. his widow, elizabeth uhler, d/o michael, a native of germany, was also born in lebanon co., june 6, 1806. 10 children were born to william and elizabeth gerhart, maria died aged 25, elizabeth, w/o john mills, (he srv. in the civil war,k 93rd p.vi. and he was killed at the battle of frederickburg), she died1 1888, catharine, w/o cyrus bemesderfer, john, mary, w/o wiliam snyder, william srv. in the civil war and was killed at the battle of the wilderness, conrad g., sarah, w/o samuel shank, george b., and caroline, w/o george r. rise. in 1864 mayor gerhart married catharine f. ritter, who was born in franklin co., d/o jacob and sarah ritter. she died 1890. children, william, died age 17, dora m., w/o george w. kochenour, of lebanon, minnie m., married george a. maulfair of lebanon and annie m. sowers, edwin uhler, was born in lebanon, sept 1, 1864. his father john sower, native of franklin co, was born 1795 and married catharine uhler, of lebanon co. edwin u., married in 1885 to martha e. herr, d/o christian herr of lancaster co. they had 2 sons.
