Bower,(Bauer, as the name was then spelled) Moses, great-great-grandfather and wife Catharine and 4 children, Michael, John, Moses, and Labright were the first settlers of this family in America. They arrrived in Phila. Sept 10, 1753. He was buried at Amityville, Berks Co Moses Bower, great-grandfather, emigrated to America. He was twice married and the father of 9 children, Jacob, Elizabeth, Moses, George, Daniel, Samuel, David, John, Michael. Jacob Bower, grandfather, He died in 1867 aged 86. He married Susanna Happel, who died Dec 28, 1854. They had 10 children, Daniel married Elizabeth Matilda Lewis, John, married Anna Bush, Jacob married Matilda Bush, William married Catharine Boyer, Elizabeth married William U degrove, Hannah married Jacob Moyer, Mary Anna married Benjamin Rhoads, Catharine married David Scheetz, Susanna, and Samuel died young. Daniel Bower, father, of Amity township, he married Elizabeth Matilda Lewis, d/o Archibald and Catharine (Coulter) Lewis of Robeson township. She died in 1868 age 57. They both are buried at St. John's Church Yard. Children, Catharine (1833-1889), married John W. Hartnanft, Jacob (1834) married Sarah Babb, Justine, Samuel, married Amanda Ludwig and they moved to DE, Susan M., married William R. Potts, Lewis A., married Justina Johnson and they lived in DE, and John Newton Bower I. Hans Bower, emigrated from Switzerland between 1708 and 1717. Children; Michael, Abraham II Michael, his children; Samuel, Fronica and Anna III Samuel, s/o Michael, was born Aug 6 1746 and is buried at Hereford Mennonite Meeting House. He was a farmer in Douglass township, Montgomery Co. His wife was Elizabeth Ziegler and they had, Susanna, Barbara, Deborah, John, Elizabeth, Samuel, Andrew and Christoper IV John Bower, was born in Douglass township, Dec 24, 1773 and died there March 30, 1854 and is buried at Bally.He married Susanna Overholtzer and they had children; Catharine married Samuel B. Latshaw, Elizabeth married Jonas Sassaman, John O., Samuel O. and Henry O. V. Henry O., s/o John, was born in Douglass township Jan 6 1807 and died there Feb 14, 1867. His grave is at the Mennonite Meeting House at Bally. His wife was Barbara Borneman, also a native of Montgomery Co. Children, Dr. Joel B., John, Priscilla, w/o Levi Ehst, Jonna, w/o Daniel B. Rittenhouse, of Montgomery County, Dr. Daniel B., of Boyertown, Elisabeth, widow of John Bechtel. VI Dr. Joel B Bower, attened Phila. Dental College. He married 3 times, 1st to Sevilla Stauffer, died age 20 leaving one son, Henry, 2nd to Elizabeth Latshaw of E. Vincent, Chester Co, and she had 5 children, 3rd to Annie S. Bickhart who died Oct 16, 1906 VII Dr. Abram L. Bower, was born Jan 23, 1879. He married to Hannah O. Landis, of New Britain, PA. Children, Joel L and Elizabeth L. Best Wishes, Geri
