I am looking for information on the Nissen family that lived in Slatington in 1907. My grandmother was Conradine Nissen born in Vilstrup Haderslev Denmark in 1887. She came to America in 1907 and Ellis Island records show her passage was paid by her Uncle ? Burl or Burt or possibly even Murl , Nissen of Slatington Pennsylvania. The handwriting on the Ellis Island record is very difficult to read. My Grandmother spent a year in Pennsylvania with her Uncle before going to Saskatchewan in Canada to marry my Grandfather Wilhelm Plohr in 1908. Any information on my Grandmother's family in Pennsylvania would be greatly appreciated.
