I was browsing for information on my Krum ancestors today and ran across an exciting portrait of Johannes Krum, Pennsylvania. It is a watercolor folk art painting of who I think is probably the son of Johannes Krum Sr. and wife Anna Margareth. Johannes was born in 1734 in Bad Marienberg Germany, to Paulus Crum and wife Anna Maria Lupp. He is the Johannes who located around Slatington Lehigh County in the 1750's. The only know birthdate I have is for Christian Krum, a son of Johannes and brother to John Krum. The portrait, (I'm hazzarding a guess here), looks to me like it was painted about 1830-45. It is just a thumbnail sketch of the painting so it is very small at the site. I have written for information regarding any possible enlargement which may be available, perhaps it is accessible by subscribing to the website. The web address for the picture is: http://www.davidrumsey.com/amico/amico967101-20084.html#record I would try copying and placing the address into your browser. If it doesn't bring up the page begin by reducing the address bit by bit and trying to access that way, removing address letters beginning from your left side. Judy
Oh, and yes I ran into the BRUNNER family among the YODER info, when I tried to learn something of the Peter SELL, listed at the end of some WERST info sent my Jonathan WERT. It also listed Henry SELL & wife Mary. My Peter ZELL stated in 1873 that he was born in PA, lived in VA & was now in OR. Peter had an older bro Henry, and Peter had a daughter Mary, grandmother or GT, of a cousin I corresponded with several years ago. My GGGF, Peter also had a brother Henry, who settled in Shelby Co., IN. Now, where and when we will locate Peter's father, Thomas, (Botetourt Co., VA 1807-1823), I don't know. Would you by any chance have anything on the DAVID LYON, 1790 PA, AND DAVID LEWELLYN, 1790 PA. MY MOTHER'S BROTHER WAS NAMED DAVID LEWELLYN LYON & my GGF, his son,was named David Bolen LYON. David, the father is listed on the first page of the 1840 census Wyoming Co., PA. prior to their removing to IL. I believe, according to the history of the NJ LYON's, one James BOLEN was mentiond. I believe I found in the NY books, that he had been plying his trade between Bermuda and NY. I did locate in the SWEM Index of VA, one David BOLAN. But I have been so absorbed in getting Peter WERST located, that I have completely ignored him. David LYON born Aug 7, 1770 CT. The northern state line area of PA was claimed by CT, & called Westmoreland Co.Ebenezwr Whipple, Susque. Co.,was his F-i-l. He died 1826. But I firmly believe the David LYON etc of 1790 census PA has a relationship here. Too, the Fitzsimmons' have to be related, as Patrick, s/o Patrick, is said to be the son of James LYON Fitzsimmons. Several of the same names are in both families. And, it may be that the Fitzsimmons families came out of NJ, also. I printed one whole issue on the unfo from the NJ Archives on Wills. One Benjamin LYON mentions in his will "my fower sons" but no names. ----- Original Message ----- From: "geri brennan" <gerifelker@webtv.net> To: <palehigh@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 16, 2007 2:57 PM Subject: Re: [PALEHIGH] [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: [PABERKS]Schautzenbach, Linn, Brunner et al > hi martha, you ask the best questions, i still say that was meant to be > n.j. and not pa. i think it was just a typo. > > the drinker, is that henry? he had land all over the place. > > it seems a lot of lyon's were from essex co.,, co., n.j. > > lyons family. some from n.j. and some from lancaster co. pa. > > and then they were line or lyon, > jacob line or jacob lyon, rejected, pa. line, soldier enlisted in > lancaster co., pa.. on sept 15, 1860 at muncie, in. an inquiry was made > for 2 of soldier surviving children, mary young and betsey eiseel, no > other date > > phila, co. > lyons > elizabeth 17 march 1747 james and grace > > john, 20 july 1726 john and elisabeth-both at christ's ch. > > war of 1812 > lyon > aaron, w., wf carra j., srv capt altemus, pa. > > james wf mary shroutz, former widow, srv capt musser, pa. > > john wf margaret o. colsher, married 4 feb 1812 sunbury, pa. soldier died > 18 may 1820,, widow died 21 feb 1878, srv capt buyers and capt. adam long, > pa. mil. > > lyons, william, wf sarah, srv capt john martin, pa. mil. > > northampton co., pa. > lyons, robert, died oct. 1848 ae 71-lower mt. bethel > > lion (/) conrad ca 1772, conrad and anna magdalena-records of the reformed > ch of easton > > Best Wishes, Geri > > > -----Original Message----- > From: martha w. jackson > Sent: Tuesday, January 16, 2007 9:07 AM > To: palehigh@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [PALEHIGH] [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: [PABERKS] > Schautzenbach, Linn, Brunner et al > > My question qould be: "How many miles from Phila. is Sussex Co., DE?" Geri, I think that Martha is actually referring to Sussex County, Delaware. The following was found online: "At this time Sussex County was under the control of the Duke of York; later he was to be King James 11 of England. In 1682 the Duke of York conveyed the three counties on the Delaware to William Penn. This action made them a part of Pennsylvania until 1769 when they set up their own assembly."
