    3. Yes, Harriet died in the 1854 cholera epidemic. I would also say that she was the d/o Charles, as that is the name of her oldest son. I believe her oldest daughter was named Mary, if I remember correctly. I believe they were in Mahaska Co. or Wappelo County prior to Patrick's moving to Mahaska.Patrick's older brother, Joseph FITZSIMMONS helped establish the town of Oskaloosa. (Jefferson Co.) Patrick married as his 2/w Phebe ZELL, d/o Peter, & Catherine (GREYBILL), of Botetourt Co., VA and Washington Co., TN (1830). That's why I say that the Peter SELL, Northampton, along with an Abraham and Jacob, are his relatives. As Peter stated in 1873, in requesting the church newspaper, that he was 73 yaears old, was born in PA lived in VA and was now in Oregon. And, if either of these SELL men had a son named Thomas, it probably would be the one in VA. who was there by 1807. ----- Original Message ----- From: "PEGGIE SHAW" <PEGGIESHAW@msn.com> To: <palehigh@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, February 15, 2007 11:45 AM Subject: Re: [PALEHIGH] Family History Request > Martha: 1850 census results for Patrick and Harriet > 1850 Mohaska, Iowa > Patrick Fitzemins 23 b. in Pa farmer > Harriet 19 b. in Pa > Charles W. 7/12 b in Iowa > Elizabeth 49 b. in Pa > Leona 10 b. in Pa > A quick check of court/orphans records for Pa (genweb archives) turned up > nothing, but it could be a more thorough search would turn up something. 3. Martha: 1850 census results for Patrick and Harriet 1850 Mohaska, Iowa Patrick Fitzemins 23 b. in Pa farmer Harriet 19 b. in Pa Charles W. 7/12 b in Iowa Elizabeth 49 b. in Pa Leona 10 b. in Pa A quick check of court/orphans records for Pa (genweb archives) turned up nothing, but it could be a more thorough search would turn up something. I am not the greatest at court records. There was a Benjamin Alsworth in the tax records for Lurgan Twp, Franklin Co, but if there was any relation to your Harriet, would prob. be a grandfather or gr. Uncle. There is also records (land and death) of a John Buchanan, but nothing that ties him to an Alsworth or Ellsworth. It appears by 1860 Patrick is living in Kansas, without Harriet. 3. One at a time. Ellsworth/Alsworth, first. There should be something about guardianship records for Harriet, and mention of Pres. Buchanan. But if not closely related, there may be nothing. Try guardianship. ----- Original Message ----- From: "martha w. jackson" <nattiejus@nctc.com> To: <palehigh@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 14, 2007 8:53 PM Subject: Re: [PALEHIGH] Family History Request > Gosh, so many of my names are unattainable, that I ave to try to remember > what, when and who. > > OK.
