Hi everyone, just thought I'd touch base and tell everyone again, what my family names are that I'm researching. Bridgeman, Constable, Bishop, Martindale, Clark, Underhill I've received a lot of information from Donna Endicott and Milt Rhynard, but we could still use some help. I'd love a copy of anything anyone has on these people. Good luck to all. Kay Stager

I'm new to this list and looking for anyone who might be researching the ROSENSTEEL family. There are the only family in my files with Allegheny connections, as far as I know. I have a genealogy home page that deals with quite a few southwest PA families at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Estates/9347 Thanks! Jan in GA

I am fairly certain that they lived either in Wescoesville or near it. The father , my great-grandfather , was Jeremiah Lewis, born in 1836 in Floyd Twp Putnam Co. Indiana. He moved to Pa. and married a woman by the name of Ellen(last name unk) they had six children. His profession was that of a Blacksmith. Unknown if he had his own shop or worked for someone elso. Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Anna in, getting warmer, AZ

Folks interested in helping RootsWeb provide new facilities can become Members by using the Web form at: http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/how-to-subscribe.html By the way, the next server we'll be bringing online will be a box dedicated to supporting Marc Nozell's HTMLized versions of the mailing list archives. We should have that box online within 48 hours, though it's reasonable to expect Marc to need a little time after that to get his software installed. (: Projects after that include a dedicated IRC server, upgrading the mail hub, upgrading the main Web server, building a NT-based FrontPage server, bringing a "dirtylists" list server online, and bringing a third ordinary list server online. [ The "dirtylists" server is for the big, rarely used announcement lists. We've developed a number of those things with 5,000 to 300,000 subscribers, and every time a post drops we kick the daylights out of the list server with hundreds or even thousands of bounces. We need a specially tuned box to handle these turkeys. ] No rest for the wicked, I suppose ... Hello~ I am looking for information on my ancestor, Charles B. FLIEHR. I'd like to know which churches he was with, in which cities during his short term as an Evangelical minister. I'm very interested in his life as a minister. Since they moved around alot, it has been very difficult to pinpoint them after he became a minister. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is all the information I have been able to find on him: Charles B. FLIEHR was born in Midweitz, Saxony, Germany about 1822. He came to the America, as a young man, about 1845, settling first in Millerstown (now Macungie), Lehigh County, PA. He worked there as a coverlet weaver with Carl Boettger, signing their coverlets "Manuf: by Fliehr & Boettger, Millerstown, Lehigh Co., PA." >From Lehigh County, he moved on to Weissport, Carbon County, PA where he wove coverlets & carpets. He gave up the occupation of weaver & became an Evangelical minister around 1863. He was successfully stationed at Bangor, Easton, Catasauqua, Allentown, Philadelphia, & in Brooklyn, NY & NYC. He died at Macungie, PA about 1885 & is buried at Emmaus, PA. He was married to Catharine HERMAN (abt 1820-1900). They were married by Rev. Francis Hoffman April 18, 1847. In the 1850 census, they were living in Lower Macungie, Lehigh Co., PA Charles was listed as 28 years old & Catharine was 30. They had 2 sons at the time of this census: Charles B. FLIEHR age 2 born in PA married Elizabeth ________ Soloman R. FLIEHR age 4 months born in PA married Messina _________ They later had the following children: Pauline FLIEHR married Henry SCHULER Aaron FLIEHR Harrietta FLIEHR married Mr. STEITZEL Daniel FLIEHR ( born 5/12/1858 in Franklin Twp, Carbon Co., PA) married Sallie ECKERT Daniel became a judge in Coopersburg, PA. Thank you very much, Kathy Stevens P.O. Box 7600 Tacoma, WA 98407-0600
